It loads pretty slow imho. The staff is ok, IRC support pretty good. Too bad I can't get any more invites ( No I am not complaining, it's just a fact that the invite system is not user-friendly - There are some invite requests pending from 30th of June -> Not cool ).

Dude I like the way you put it. It does sound good. However remember that no one forces anyone to pay to leech or to buy stuff from them though. Many people talk smack about TL and well it's one of my favorite trackers and I never paid a cent to be able to download from them and for the most part it satisfies my needs.

I do like the fact that FTN has cool staff and I'm actually able to have a discussion with one of them here. That shows that you guys have a good community. However it does seem a lot more hyped than Sct and I seriously doubt that it's that much better content wise.

Also I wasn't talking as being hyped because it sucks I mean it's rated 10 in content and 9 in rarity and I know that. I mean hyped as in people making ridiculous offers when trying to trade it. Same with those level 9-10 trackers.

Where a lot of people here look for high level trackers for their trading value. Many people don't use their trackers just because they just want to collect them or keep trading them.

I´ll give my opinion.
Sct have more torrents but they are torrents that you find on every tracker, like tl, ftn etc.
if you just want to download and seed to won´t get banned tl is enought and of course demonoid is always needed.
The truth is that I prefer FTN because it have the best forum of all, the best irc and the best staff because they are always availabable on irc, forums etc, not like almost every tracker that when you have a problem you need to go to the irc like 5 days in a row to find anyone who reply, and sometimes they reply to fuck you, because is what they do, just ignore what you say. FTn is the only forum I use, and I never used irc (besides to try to recover a account,etc) of a tracker, this should mean something. Maybe the only bad aspect they have is the slow transition between web pages. But that´s not something relevant. wait one second or five is the same shit

the problem there is simply that the ppl dont want to risk a ratioban because of the 1:1 or 72 hours rule..
The most ppl on FTN have sct or other good trackers too, so they think that they can download the file from another tracker.

or who knows? maybe improve the speed between webpages, that could make some users to make ftn his first choise tracker. Is not easy to get a good solution to the problem. I didn't know that. You see, for the end user, all that matters is speed and promptitude. If the uploaders are slow, get the moderators to do it. If the moderators don't have time to check the forums make the admins do it. If noone has time .. maybe it's time for some new people on staff. I bet you have lots of active users in your forums ( I admit, I don't read the FTN forum too often ) who would gladly take the job.

It's summer, it's hard to judge activity these days, as even normally active users dont use the tracker as much.

Don't know why that last post just disappeared. It's not a secret that Patriot has a grudge against FTN, he made that very clear when he posted that long rambling post after he got kicked off FTN. Wouldn't surprise me if Brandon and Kimii got disabled because of personal grudges from the mods here rather than anything they actually did.

I couldn't agree more with Venom's post - except that it's been deleted now too.
Surely moderators should be impartial in these things, but how can they be when they have a vested interest in some sites and have grudges against others. An example - there is a thread about TB security, because of their stolen database. Now that thread will carry on until it has run its course. There was a thread a few weeks back regarding RTS security after the site got hacked. Strangely that thread got closed by a mod after a few pages because 'it wasn't going anywhere'. Come on, 99% of the threads in this section don't go anywhere. That's not the only RTS thread that has been closed by one mod or other when people here were posting critiscism of the site.
If Brandon had been offering invites to the mods here instead of those of us who actually need them then I am sure he wouldn't have got disabled.

For me, FTN is the best overall tracker there is - great content and staff and the best pretimes and speed. Also, security is the most important thing... And about FTN's browsing speed - adults understand it... kids hate it.

Off Topic: SCT is another great tracker - but what I don't like about it is its Pay2Leech system - which is a cash cow, since it's very hard to seed in their tracker (unless you have a seedbox).

That makes sence. Only 5000 users or so. That's why FTN has never been a tracker that I really want so bad. I don't like trackers where is so damn hard to seed. I mean Oink can be a bitch but at least you can upload your own stuff and also the ratio requierements are the best of any tracker. So just seed and you don't have to worry about getting that 1:1 ratio. I love Oink :)

Let me clarify what Patriot just said.
I was demoted and disabled for these reasons:
A: I did not actively open up shop and hand out invites to every person on this forum. (I was never given the community rep rulebook which must clearly state you're required to do so). I propose Community Rep be changed to Designated Invite Issuer to clarify it's use.
B: Apparently I was not allowed to disable users who had more than one account on my tracker, were trading full accounts (while also having another), and for cheating. Whoops :mellow:
C: I'm close friends with someone FST staff do not like. Guilty by association. :dry:


After countless efforts last night to get an answer for the actions issued against me (I otherwise never would have been given an explanation, which I don't find respectful to say the least) I finally found out.

Case closed! I'll talk to skizo about it later.

edit: oh btw, I did issue some invites "through PM" to a few rather interesting users who I felt deemed worthy. Mainly they had good personalities, which is really what makes FTN's community so awesome.

i disagree, it's a lot easier to build up a good ratio on FTN than on SCT (with all the freeleech torrents). You just have to be a little wise and don't jump on everything that is not free leech with a new account...!

You see, I "DID" talk to both skizo and reality last night, which is how I obtained the facts I expressed above. I was told, that in order for me to gain my privileges back, I would have to make a deal with FST, mainly on the lines of offering invites every month to users, in order to be a Community Rep. Now, you said above that this was never a requirement. If that is true, why is it being forced upon me? Seems to me, In order to be a community rep here, FST must "gain" something. Where I come from, we're raised to give, rather than take. Perhaps if you guys hadn't disabled me after a "week" of activity I might have been a bit more inclined to do something out of the ordinary here.

Regarding B, consider my boasting a warning. I suppose I should have been more on the lines of "oh damn, could not catch you. Have fun!" and allowed more and more users to suffer the consiquences. Finally, I have absolutely no problem being helpful to "users" here. From what I can tell, there are some good people on this forum. It's unfortunate the staff here aren't as kind to the staff from other sites who aren't trading and abusing, but I can see you guys are ambitious so I'm not too surprised. If I had known in the beginning that I was being bribed, or having to buy the respect of staff here I never would have become active at all.

Wow, that's a sick story. I'm saddened by what FST has become. It has been taken over by complete and utter censorship. I started a thread the other day about something I noticed on the site, and a few hours later it wad deleted. It was completely benign , there was no cause for deletion except that I proposed a distrust between FST members.

Now I dont know the whole story behind you losing your privileges here but I for one dont think you should be forced to offer invites to retain your CR status. Being helpful towards members here and acting "to bring communities together" as it says on the Community Rep fineprint should be enough. Thats all I have to say about this soap opera.

I really appreciate that. I have the exact same feelings toward it as you. Fact is, I probably wouldn't have minded giving a few invites to the public if I hadn't been treated so poorly so soon. Nobody should be forced to do anything against their will though. I for one won't give into bribes of any sort, which is why FTN is still one of the few sites that has not resorted to pay 2 leech in order to pocket some income on the side.

Hmm, I have read all the thread, including the deleted posts too ;) and here's what I say: I trust our stuff (FST) - they can be rude and give you some point, but when they investigate the situation it'll be fixed on based on justice. Know it on my own experience.

I don't remember the exact phrase and it's not about you - it was in Venom's post which was deleted soon after, but the sense was that the guy complained about 1) they support the other tracker 2) they not giving a special privileges to FTN here when they should and blah-blah-blah, I don't know who's he on FTN, but man is totally lost here, if he think it will go FTN way. FST created by different people and they can enforce they own rules here.
As for your situation I'm not sure what's going on - too much said but I still don't have the clear picture...But the stuff will take care of it I'm sure :)

It seems like FST staff are the ones who need to talk to each other and "iron out any rough spots you can see between" them for treating a Community Rep - who all was doing was helping FST members - so poorly and demanding him to do an obligation just to gain back his privileges. :ermm:

The FST=RTS wouldn't be important if the mods here could remain impartial since this is a bitorrent forum, not the RTS forum. On a side note, I'm still in the dark as I don't even see any infraction history in your profile, so I can't even look at what the infraction was for. :unsure:

With the increased traffic flow on the site, I don't doubt that some us are coming across as a bit less chummy. There is a definite increase in members, which in turn makes a definite increase in the amount moderation that is required. There is also an influx in scammers and cheaters which amounts to more reports that the staff is pressed to fulfill.

For example: There have been 25 reports made in the past 36 or so hours hours. With each report taking a decent amount research such as checking IP information, locations, communicating with other staff members on FST and various trackers, etc., etc., etc., each can easily require an hour or more of research to fulfill. Now consider we have less staff in which to do these than we had before. It doesn't take a genius to realize it's a full load on everyone. It puts strain on everyone. With a bit of healthy communication and patience on everyones part, all these concerns can be dealt with.

Ignorant statements such as "SO YOU ALL WANT TO BE AWARE YOU COULD BE NEXT" will not be tolerated. This is not a democracy and you DO NOT have the right to free speech. I do not go to any trackers and disrespect staff on their forum. If you want to shit on FST on your own forum you're welcome to do so. Here, it may be deleted. Take your negative shit talking elsewhere.

To clarify… The BCC is not an anti-FST group or in any way in competition with FST. As far as active recruiting here, it has been curved. I do not deny contacting a couple members via pm, but it was not an act of active recruiting from FST. As many of the members that are asked to join the BCC do not exclusively use this board as their only means of interaction within the community. Usually the pms were sent as a quick way to contact them as they were on here at that time. All of them were actually contacted at the trackers or other sites as well.

Personally Skizo, I have no issues with you as our interactions have never been anything but cordial. As far as being mature, I have addressed this with BCC members and I have defiantly toned down my opinionated comments here for well over the last month or so. I have made several threads on the BCC boards about members being mature when posting here.

I think that there is also a tad bit of confusion when the general term of FST Mod is used. I don’t think that it implies that all FST staff are not on the up and up. I respect several of them and know them well. I think some of the issue comes from the guilty by association mentality. We should actually try our best to get along and co-exist without all the drama. I think that too many lines have been drawn in the sand and people are getting caught up in things, just because they are associated with the parties not agreeing with each other.

In any case, this is petty. By all means, go where you like. But there is no need to bad mouth FTN or me just b/c you have personal issues. I'm an open person and anyone is always welcome to contact me regarding anything that's happened. But I honestly don't see the need for you to ask users to pm you, unless you feel the need to stoop low enough to trash talk and betray the site you told me you missed. Keep personal issues personal, not public. I know you're better than this.
