I think it's an adjective but I don't know what that means either!

Please let me know the meaning and demonstrate with a sentence.

pedantic: to pick on ever last little bloody detail (not exactly from a dictionary, ut you get the idea :P )

for example: some people can be so pedantic, they pick on every last little bloody detail :P

The definition i have fugley is:

a pedant:

one who overrates or parades book-learning or technical knowledge or insists on strict adherance to formal rules,

also

one who is possessed by theory.

Can we have examples of who "one" of these might be?!

a celebritry or politician perhaps? or even a forum member ?!!

Arnlod Rimmer is a good example of a pedant. And if you don't know who that is, go watch some Red Dwarf.

Gotya! :D But surely he's only a pedant for sad reasons though eh? Or are all pedant like that for similar reasons??

Great show though! - one of the best and cheap too! - imagination and creativity better than cash right?

Rimmer had excuses... I remember him saying, about his father: "Who else's father had an alibi for his sperms the night of conception ? "
