this probably is a stupid question...
but, i've seen loads of posts saying 'i have oink with xxxGB buffer +mail'. What does mail mean? Is it an included e-mail address?

Yes... As trackers can see e-mail changes plus an IP change and will ban the account. So people who trade will offer up an email account with the account to prevent it from being banned...
