I don't get those "more than 3" users . The only good reason for them to be banned more than 3 times is because OiNK allows every user to download for free 20 GBs of stuff during the first 14 days (and that's a lot of stuff) , and right after either they are banned for a low ratio or they are quick enough to delete their account by themselves (ban for a low ratio has no effect on the inviter btw) .
Anyway, OiNK's new ratio requirements are so easy achievable (and no shit like wait time for low ratio users) , so I don't get why ppl are still try to cheat / get banned for a too low ratio.

I've never been banned there. I consider Oink to me my most important tracker because of the vast selection of high-quality rare content they offer as relatively excellent speeds. If I'm banned and lose my buffer, I don't know what I would do. I do hear that the staff their are terrible, and I'm a good user, so I'll do the best to stay out of their way to prevent any misdirected wrath.

It's a nice tracker. There really is no reason to get banned there. I never had issues there. The forums are always active, you can easily get invites to other trackers as a PU. The staff seems very nice. What other tracker will give you so much content and such a low ratio?

This is to me one of my most valuable trackers and that's why I don't give out invites for it. I don't want to invite the wrong people.

This place is for all things FST, and if people feel comfortable discussing a site, or a staffer, or a given issue, then why not. It may not accomplish much, if anything at all, but it does give people an avenue to vent their frustrations, or to air their views, which is what this, and the other, topic is all about.

Oink is just another tracker. I never had issues and my inviter never had issues with Oink. I bet that a lot of people that have been banned is because of low ratio, for trading or for inviting cheaters.

It wouldn't be so obvious to me without knowing who did what. And as for individual position - yes we have more than 60% who's cool, but around 40% with problems there, wtf? Plus some people who voted have no problem as they were not oink members, lol :) Its FST. Our members not biggest n00bs in the net, and its 40 %. You can make such a poll for other quality sites like TL, ScT, TT, bitme and see the difference.

yep . when I joined the site , there were no clear ratio rules .
in the rules page there were an aggressive statement like "give as much as you get or get banned" , I've followed that rule since than , though now one can have even a 0.15 ratio in some cases .

Yes, the tracker is always capable of following sessions from different IPs for the same user. A torrent is associated with a passkey (which is included inside the .torrent file). We always know who you are and your stats will not be mixed up with anyone else with a similar IP address

Well for a site that has grown into a mostly trading site, 38% isn't that much...like mods have said that they ban 25 people for just cheating on a slow day. I wouldn't be surprised if people here take fun in trying to beat the system at cheating and end up getting banned. Frankly there is sometimes a wrongful ban, but next time that happens the person should think about speaking nicely when they know they didn't do anything wrong and not throw a tantrum to get their account back. A little consideration for the person you're asking to reenable you account could go a long way if you didn't do anything wrong. If that doesn't work well, shit happens...And at the end of the day what did you lose? Everything you got was free so it didn't cost you anything except maybe a tiny bit of bandwidth but thats different.

As long as you don't hit and run, keep a good ratio, treat the staff with respect and keep away from giving out invites to the wrong people, you'll be fine. And if you use a decent client then you shouldn't have problems with the script either. In other words, just behave. Works for me and thousands of others.

And even if you got banned for no reason I am positive you could get you account back from the staff if you ask them the right way. Think about it, there's probably a shitload of people who get banned for breaking the rules, then get all upset and contacts the mods with things like "wtf, why did my account get bannned!!!11!!". So if you confront them in that manner then they will probably label you as an idiot.

A lot of people who responded that they've been banned obviously did something wrong, ie sharing accounts or trading or whatever. Also, keep in mind that most of the people who voted in the poll are here on FST to trade invites which is something you get banned for at oink, thus the results are not surprising at all imo.

First one ;) It happened in one day and I had no power to change it after the stats updated, though I talked on IRC with almost every stuff and now have an interesting picture on they attitude: who is fair, who is strict and who is complete jerk.

Sounds about right except for the H&R part. You can hit and run on Oink. I have done it lots of times, when downloading something from new users. And they are happy about it since they need the upload and I don't.

Since just joint this forum and TooMuchTime banned me for good last year, hope she can remember me -my nick is same wherever I go- an tell me why did I do to get banned.
My ratio was very good and I was a good uploader, in spite I broke the rule -I uploaded a legendary bootleg of David Bowie which was audience, ppl enjoyed it a lot according to the comments I got, but well- and got a warning.
But don't think that's a reason for banning someone for good, and, btw, I was using Azureus then, so the client was not the cause.
And my avatar was very cute as well.

Hope she sees my post one day and explain publicaly the reason she had to ban me on this forum.
Maybe she doesn't remember me, OINK has many users and this happened around one year ago, but still wondering why I got banned from the tracker and the irc channel.

But even if she refused to give me an explanation I will understand that. OINK is her site and she can ban whoever she want, we are her invites, she is an admin and we must respect this fact.

what i like about oink is that they dont have a strict hit'n run rule. infact, i believe they don't have a hit'n run rule at all. i guess thats the advantage of having so many members. its nice to actually use the buffer and not have to seed every torrent for 36 hours. theres always other ppl looking to seed and improve their ratios.
i think scc has a similar rule that if ur ratio is above 1 then the hit'n rule doesnt strictly apply to you because members there are always looking to seed also.
