I dunno, but every time I see a noob come on here giving away or trading away an account(s) with 2TB buffers, etc. I can't help but think they all cheated to get there.

I have a 1TB buffer on TL, but that account is 76 weeks old as well. My next highest buffer on any tracker is probably Blackcats with 100GB buffer.

Yea those 1TB buffer offered by members from countries where adsl is barely available always sounded dodgy to me as well.
/back to topic: i've never cheated because it's totally against the all idea of the BT protocol and it's never been a problem for me with 2Mbits UP to keep a ratio above 2 even on the most "hard to seed" trackers.

Giving away a TB buffer does seem mighty suspicious. Why would you want to get rid of an account you worked hard to build up. In my case I'd have to cheat to build a buffer like that as I live in Australia and our connections suck. which is why all my accounts only have a few gigs buffer but that's enough for me I only want what I can use.

there's really no need to cheat no matter what your connection is mines not so good (I average about 300kb / 80kb for torrents) and I've never felt the need. I figure people mainly do it for the fun of fucking around

Aussie connections are not as bad as you might imply. The 1Mb/s upload speed is more than sufficient to get at least a 2:1 (upload:download) on most trackers (including ScT). And I agree with you that it's more than enough to maintain a good buffer to be a good user.

The TB buffers that people offer are mighty suspicious, especially the relatively new accounts. Even with seedboxes it's highly improbable to get those huge buffers in such short time (few weeks or in some very stupid cases, few days). You probably need a combination of freeleech and x2 uploads to get close realistically...

I can only think of two reasons why a user would cheat so much for these stupidly large buffers (TB buffers):
1. e-penis
2. As a result of tracker trading and trying to obtain something "ranked higher".

Reasons for "normal" cheating (GB buffers):
1. Curious on how cheating works and just tried.
2. Used as an easy escape route to dig themselves out of a negative ratio hole.
3. Just a bad/lazy user.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A VALID REASON TO CHEAT!

Personally I have never cheated and have never felt the urge to. Defeats the whole purpose of bittorrenting and sharing in general. Cheaters deserve the harsh punishment they get.

some adsl2+ plans may be changing to annexM connections and thatll make upload jump to 3mbit/s i think its iinet thats trialling it atm

anyway, 1mb is better than alot of arabian coutried that have 128up, thats why those countries get banned and thats why they cheat, its not that they dont want to upload (probably) its just impossible on such bad connections

Yeah OiNK is a little harder to seed than most. But that said you can upload your own files and it's very easy to keep a ratio. Just upload a few nice FLAC albums and you're set. My OiNK buffer is comparable to the buffer on my regular trackers this way. Love my OiNK FLAC files :).

On Exetel, between 12 am and 12 PM free downloads :P Once you pass 40 gigs you get "Slowed" but i don't see any real difference :) Oh and 12 gig off peak for $60 including telephone rental which is worth $25 :) I<3Exetel

Speeds on Exetel are pretty good aswell...i average 1.5MB/Sec on 5 torrents all up. Single torrents usually go at 700 KB/Sec :) So yeh im happy.

I have 128Kbps, I had to rent a server ( vectoral ) for 2 months and buffered my bitmetv,bitsoup,torrent-damage account and I got banned from blackcats because i upped too much ( 80gig in a file with 1 seeder and 400 leechers )
