First of all, thanks to everyone who answered my question a few weeks back on which download manager to get - I've since got FlashGet and I'm extremely happy with it (especially the part which lets me bypass certain ad pages to get to the actual files ) - I can see easily why people ask in Softwareworld which programs to get :D
I know it isn't a proper quote, but it's a better way IMO of getting a message of thanks across ;) Back to the point of the thread - Now I've another problem for y'all

I'm starting to warm to the #KLChat room, so I want to get a decent IRC client. Only thing - I only need it for chat, so I need a primarily-chat IRC client rather than a server-primary client (like IRC-Ork). I've been using Trillian's IRC applet for chatting in the room and it's definitely showing its limitations now I'm getting used to IRC.

Any suggestions guys? (and why?)

Oops - I forgot to say something. For anyone who can still remember them; the rules for submitting I posted for the Which Download Manager topic, are the same. For those who don't...

Any suggestions must adhere to the following No adware (was a problem with a lot of popular download managers) No spyware (ditto) Serial or Keygen easily available, though crack can do in a pinch (note I will not ask for any of these directly!) Must be effective in it's job (some download accelerators were known to not do what they said on the tin)
Can't remember the rest, so forget about them ;)

mIRC + Invision is the best IRC client for windows ;) It's easy to get mIRC serial and Invision is just an add on.

I first tried IRC using mIRC a few months back, but due to some connection problems I just ditched it.

But if people think it is worth having another try, I might just do that :)

Hmm, i remember a few years ago i used a client called xIRCon... not sure if it's any good, but i remember it was not fancy and easy to use. It's very outdated though, but if you just want a chat client, it's gotta be better than Trillian...
