View Full Version : Rock Bottom...

How far down is rock bottom, exactly? (exactly) I am standing on the edge of the afore mentioned.

I'm thirty-six:

I've finished school, barely. ( I'm a System Admin - in
theory...not practice.)

I'm a father of three and a husband to a lovely lady.

Kids, while your young try to tame your addictions, vices and
filthy little habits. (read eliminate)

I am in the jaws of a powerful beast and it's eating my soul
slowly...bite by bite. (day in...and day out.)

I don't know if I want it (me) to stop.

I want it (me) to stop...with all of my heart.
It is fucking madness.

Three days awake, a thousand cigarettes butts - and still no fucking
clue what to do, at all. (at all)

Paul these moments come to us all and around the age you have reached..this crisis tends to occur around 33 years and is sometimes called "the Jesus crisis" Often it goes with religious insights etc...just keep away from crosses for a time..post liberally here in teh Lounge and roll another joint!

If you wanna hang out you've got to take her out; cocaine.
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; cocaine.
When your day is done and you wanna run; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

If your thing is gone and you wanna ride on; cocaine.
Don't forget this fact, you cant get it back; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

brotherdoobie, the last thing you wanna do is turn out like the Baldwin brother addicted to coke.... as it would get you nowhere fast.

I was quoting Eric's song. Because of its sardonic nature. I wasn't singing
it's praises. (at all)

Trust me.

Yeah, despite it being a bit gay.

Seriously though...

I know what you're saying man and I know how you feel. I was down and out for the last few weeks as well. I've just been lucky that my sis in law was over and she managed to talk me through the worst of it.
Anyway; I've started living with the philosophy of 'everything happens for a good reason'. Because experience has taught me that it does.

If you didn't get this job now, you're probably just meant to be somewhere else or do something else which will bring you more happiness :)

As for the puffing... I don't smoke anymore but I used to find it helpful to ease of the stuff for a week or two every now and then. Stops you getting too paranoid or spaced out.

I know what I have to do. It's time to step up to the plate and be a man.
I have a beautiful family and some fine friends.

Btw, I'm glad to hear you doing better, Sonja. I knew you would pull through. You're a decent person with a fair soul.

I've always thought that.

The Lounge...FTW! Thanks, Lizards.

Reading Skweeky's words reminded me of the following...

"the requirements of your process may totally disrupt what you had intended. Hoped for outcomes my elude you. Yet what you regard as detours, inconveniences, disruptions, obstacles and even failures will actually be rerouting opportunities, with union and reunion as the only abiding destinations."

Good luck Paul, you are indeed in an important period in your life.
