By contemporary I mean Fantasies and Horrors that take place in modern time, like Hellraiser, Blade, Phantasm etc
I'm gonna rent out some DVD's tonight, so I need some suggestions! Is Exorcist 3 good?

The Thirteenth Ghost is pretty watchable, if you don't mind cheesy endings.
