However,

if you don't really care about it:

It wasn't very good

I just finished reading it and I'm not very impressed.

None of the main characters die. Harry survives against all odds because of a piece of Voldemort's soul was left inside him.

It was a bit boring to be honest

I liked it Skweeks!

I admit that no-one REALLY close to Harry dies, but I like a good old fashioned happy ending sometimes!

Oh but Hedwig died!! HEDWIG!

I was so traumatised that i ate 2 packets of crisps, a snickers bar and a chocolate "petit Julien" that was meant for showing, not eating. Oh well...

Of course I've read the whole thing already!

Yeah but Hedwig is an owl... I thought it was a wee bit sad when Dobby died :(

I liked Dobby

There were no big surprises though, the whole thing kinda went as I expected it to go. Maybe she gave too much away in the previous book...

I was surprised about Snape's role in the whole thing though :o

Yeah... the end of an era it is.
I've been reading HP since I was 14...
Strange to think there will be no more to look forward to :(

Have either of you tried the Philip Pullman trilogy? SGG and her bro like them more than the HP books and they were HP fans.

The set is called "His Dark Materials" and it is trilogy. First book is called Northern Lights, the second The Subtle Knife and the third The Amber Spyglass.

I liked Pullman's trilogy(and I hated Harry Potter), nicked them off my kid sister to read.

I started reading those ones but I didn't really enjoy it so I stopped.

Maybe I was a wee bit too young for it :)

OK then, potterheads...

How does the sword of Gryffindor get from the Goblin who ran off with it at the Gringotts raid, to be drawn from the Sorting Hat by Neville Longbottom near the end of the story.

Spoiler above :dabs:

You may claim that "the sword will always come to the true heir of Gryffindor in his hour of need, blah blah blah", but I say Rowling fucked up...

The Gap Series is better.
