Blast, what am I going to do with all this petrol now.

While I am here anyway, why do you call it gas when it's a liquid.

Cos it evaporates! :D
If you go down to the local camping shop and pick up a bottle of 'gas' and shake it, it will sound and feel like liquid, that's because it is :)
It only becomes gas when decompressed and mixed with oxegen :D

Hope that helps!! :D

That's because it's pressurised, its a Boyle's Law thing.

Petrol is a liquid at standard temperature and pressure.

It is indeed volatile at room temperature, however not very. That would make the use of inernal combustion engines impractical.

What's laundromat short for.

I would assume that laundromat is short for automatic laundry.
Then again, the USA moves in mysterious ways.

Not to get into a "battle of the words" with you again JP...

But I think we Yanks call it gas because that's a shortened form of gasoline. http://members.roadfly.com/tite-wad/thumb.gif

I read somewhere that it is technically possible to develope a car engine that can be run on mucus.

Doesn't sound too pleasant but apparently it would have zero emissions.

I've no idea on the performance though! I'm sure they could come up with some kind of turbo injection thingy!

The wonders of science eh?

What would be the point?

I mean its a naturally occuring resource, but how would it be collected, distributed, etc?

Dont be silly, fugley, who told you this?

lol - again. You really do need help. Please don't get it.

OK whilst on the subject, I have asked this elsewhere. Why do you call it a touchdown, if you don't have to touch the ball down.

Liquid Gas, though with a triple point at standard temperature and pressure.

Any help with the touchdown thing. You seem the sort of chap that would know that.

I think (I could be wrong) they call it a touchdown cos when the sport first started the ball had to touch the ground like rugby!! :D

Only what I remember John Madden say, but I may have missunderstood :D

That would certainly make sense. A try is also for historic reasons.

In the past when the player touched the ball down over the line they did not get any points. However they got the chance to try with a kick.

Wow, JP, My Father used to play Rugby for county, and was on the England squad till he totalled his leg, and I got him with that trivia!!

Thanks

EDIT to add: and this is prime "gone off topic" stuff! :P
