Have you looked at the peerguardian site? They have a relatively long thread on RC1 issues in Vista.

I have it running on my Vista machine. It isn't without problems (updating lists can be troublesome) but it works for the most part.

But in case you don't want to look at the peerguardian site:

Maybe this will solve your issue.

1. Make sure your torrent software is off.
2. Kill PG2 from the task manager
3. go to where you installed PG2 [program files/peerguardian. . .] and delete the lists folder.
4. start PG2. You'll get an error message. Just click okay.
5. Open up PG2 via the taskbar
6. hit the 'disable' button
7. click 'check updates' Click okay, okay.
8. Press 'Enable' after the list caches have been created.
9. start your torrent software.

It's hit or miss.

One way that I think I got it to work is to disable peerguardian before I close it/shut it down. Then when I start it up again, PG, will start disabled and then I enable it.

It's a slight pain, but remember PG2 for Vista is in pre-beta, so strange things like this will happen. Hopefully they'll have a more formal version in the near future.
