Yeah damn right!
But as far as being hesitant in downloading them for free is concerned, boy you got some issues.

For me the top 3 are.. Flash MX, Dreamweaver MX, and Fireworks MX.. i could go days just working on a project. I have made a couple of animations, but am still adding sound hehe, so i downloaded Cool Edit Pro to record while i watch the animation to match my voice jus right. Guess i'll wipp it up with some effects to make it sound goofy lol. My best animation was called Mr.Blubz.. it's like this gross fat dude who seems to be the weirdest person around..(he eats the title and farts and nuke size explotion)

It's totally normal m8 :P
MM are freaking geniuses
dreamweaver is completely reconfigurable, how it writes any tag or script can be tweaked or rewritten :: amazing :w00t:

i think that if you can make money from a product you should pay for a licence
'cause the kids at macromedia earn their money

fabulous software :-)

[i still couldn't give up adobe though]

I hear and read that you love Macromedia products, but how about making a cool sig or avatar with it, to show us your talents. :P
That is a good thing that you did by purchasing the software.
Hey
I'm a macromedia newbie!
I just (today) installed Macromedia Fireworks MX 6.0 and it looks pretty cool.
Any tips?
What's this Dreamweaver thing I'm reading about.
What does it do that fireworks don't?
Since I'm a newbie to MM, please let me know all that you know!

Macromedia Director 7 is a great program too, used it a couple of years back to make a multimedia kiosk for new visitors at the school to find where certain buildings were, theres newer versions of Director out now but 7 does all i need it to do.

For editing photo's I think photoshop is best. Fireworks is better for webgraphics, I use them both for diffrent purposes I don't think one is better than the other.

Just diffrent. B)

Well within a week of joining the forum, I coined the term 'Macromediaphile' - I think that should explain my obsession to it ;)

But yeah, the Macromedia MX software is like nothing I've seen before - The range interactively is so fluent IMO that it shames ranges like Microsoft Office. I actually use them all for specialist things.

Fireworks - All vector graphics, I use this. Web graphics, logos etc

Flash - Presentations, intros. Enough said

Dreamweaver - Web pages of any needed format. Enough said

Freehand - I now prefer this to Microsoft Publisher! This gives me a freedom IMO to set the page how I want which Publisher doesn't give

Contribute - Maintaining my web pages. Once it's set up, it's remarkably easier to maintain sites than doing them through Dreamweaver.

Between them, I can effectively create any smart-presentated file I want :D

I'll admit it again - I am a Macromediaphile, and there's nowt wrong with it :w00t:
==========================
BTW for all those who are interested - Sharelive have recently declared in its new releases Macromedia Studio MX Plus. Differences from the original Studio MX is the inclusion of Macromedia Contribute and the DevNet Plus Resources Kit. Any who've yet to try Studio MX, I'd strongly recommend that you try this version instead. Current Studio MX users, I'll have a try of it myself and let y'all know whether it's worth d/ling. One last thing - eMule is required to d/l it.

I love photoshop's "Save for the Web" feature... it uses every single method to tweak an image to make it small. I prefer .gif and slowly tweaking down the color (sometimes u dont even see a difference and it's just smaller lol)

I am new to the whole macromedia thing but the programs seem to be a major hit. I would love links to where I can learn how to use the progs ... especially DW and FW (MX of course)!!! I have several websites I maintain but am still using the archaic HTML ... Can someone rescue me from HTML and help bring me into the 21st century???

lol i know loads of sites, PM me for a list :)

I love macromedia, its great, their programs are great, even their website is great.

I dont use Fireworks because I use Photoshop and know it better than Fireworks.

However, before I used Photoshop i used Fireworks, so I do still think it is good :)
