Oink indexing lol

I noticed we have another locked post regarding good files to leech from oink?

I just wanna ask why it's wrong to post a few links to files that for the most part have helped loads of fellow FST users build thier ratio on what is a very hard site to build your ratio!

Also thier index isnt all it's cracked up to be because sorting it in order of leechers doesnt make sense since most leechers are really partial seeders so surely by posting a few links it would'nt hurt anyone and surely wouldnt make this a indexing place for oink lol..

I think closing a post that has helped people which is what this place is about? doesnt make sense, It's merely people helping each other out!

well let's say i'm an oink mod. if i checked your "great oink download" threads for a date, then get a list of people hopping on that particular torrent after it's been advertised, after 2-3 times i would have pretty neat list of trading suspects.

that mod would be dam clever then.. considering he would need to guess which ips matched which referal from the page lol not counting the genuine users who might also have added the torrent from thier own site!

Anyway nevermind I just thought it odd that while one mod was fine with posting in such posts that another mod comes along and decides to close it lol :blink:

Well from what I've seen those ratio builder posts that get posted here usually end up as deleted torrents so yeah I think mods do check and at least they do delete the torrents.

For building ratio fairly fast at Oink I do recommend uploading your own stuff :)

true they do delete them but your find from the logs it's usually for being a dupe or having something included it shouldnt.

I've recently found the best way for me to build my ratio is to partial seed, I downloaded 20mb of a JK Rowling Ebook last week and upped over 5 gig lol which is good for my sh*t upload :)

Don't ask for torrents, cracks, serials or keygens to be posted, you are asking someone else to break this rule. Hacking/Cracking discussions are not allowed.

If you want more info, read up on third party liability and participatory infringement.

The only way a thread like that could be allowed is if name of the torrent were posted without a link.

Thank Skizo I didnt think of it like that. Anyway like I said earlier I've found it easyier just to keep my eyes on the top ten and do some partial seeding, or better still find it else where and seed it back. I've tried seeding my own stuff but looked to complicated ripping the disks :blink:

Much of the content that is on Oink can actually be found on Demonoid, even the top seeded stuff like the Rosetta Pack, iDoser, etc.

Download it there and seed it for ages on oink. ;)

yeah I've been sititng on that Rosetta pack for a while now. it has its good days and some quiet days. One of these days I will learn how to use the rss feature and improve my chances of jumping on a torrent while its hot.

i think Oink staff is smart and they know how to make way to increase ratio harder.. so this Forum have really great rules that don't allow post torrents links which can increase your ratio.. i think people help these links but FST don't allow so everyone should do their best without help...

m8 it's all good I don't think anyone is saying people can't post about good torrents to jump on in oink. Skizzo made it pretty clear that it's ok as long as a direct link to the torrent isn't included.
