Vectoral, typically, but it depends on the stats.

I have a leaseweb, I like it, but Vectoral is slightly better from what I hear and I believe it's cheaper also if you match specs.

Leaseweb Is better?

how can you say vectoral is better rofl. Leaseweb is one of the best hosting companys, they got a huge backbone and shitload of peers. Vectoral is cheaper yes, but quality and support wise leaseweb is the best. i'm not saying vectoral is bad or something, they are also good. but if you have to choose its leaseweb.

How the hell are you suppose to get one from Vectoral, they all say "Sold Out".

I have used them both, there is no question LW is better. It can be debated all day long but unless you have tried them both its just hear say. LW gave me better speeds on all my trackers I use over Vectoral. Nothing wrong with Vectoral but they are not better than LW. Their network is tops. If you take everything in stride, price, support, bw and so on then I think Vec would win (when they have stock). If you want fantastic speed at all around its Leaseweb.

ScT has alot of both LW and Vec but I am pretty sure there are more Vec on ScT so you might be better off with them if that is the tracker you primarily use.

Give one a whirl and have fun...........

Vectoral gives you the big advantage to choose the OS you want.

This is the list of OS offered by vectoral:
* Centos 4.4
* Debian Etch and Sarge
* Fedora
* Microsoft Server 2003 (Web, Standard and Enterprise)
* Suse 9.3
* Ubuntu 6.0.6.1

I've been owning the two of them and i gotta say that overall, i prefered Vectoral for a couple of reasons :

- 1 tb more bandwith a month more which is huge
- bandwith calculation seems to be wrong in Leaseweb, you end up taking more bandwith than utorrent stats tells you (which isn't the case with Vectoral)
- You got more RAM for the same price
- Beter customer service (you can chat online with a rep, pretty cool)

But on the other side, Leaseweb speed is better on most trackers i tried. Though the speeds are great with Vectoral also.

If Leaseweb had a 3000 Gigs/month plan for less than 100$, maybe i would say Leaseweb because of the speed

What are the average upload speed on oink with Vectoral and Leaseweb?

What are the average upload speed on oink with Vectoral and Leaseweb?

on oink, it's hard to seed, no matter that you are using a seedbox

maybe 2 MB/s at best and not steady

if you have 20$ a month to invest, get a leeware seedbox, it's better than nothing and you will be able to seed on trackers like TL, REVTT without problem ;)

linux for sure, windows s*cks! :D

i had my seedbox running for 3 months on linux (fedora core 6 distro) without a single reboot!

on linux, the best thing is to run utorrent with wine (windows emulation)

If you take your seedbox @ vectoral, you don't have to install linux: simply install Windows 2003 and you are done.

It seems that don't support Windows on dedicated servers by leaseweb.

But learning Linux is not very difficult and will give you the possibility to have a fast and stable server ;-)

I'm gonna buy a Vectoral one. Does anybody know the speeds on OiNK?

iam1337
07-30-2007, 07:51 PM
someone already asked that above...on oink...it doesn't matter about the seedbox.

On oink, you will hardly ever get more than 2 mb/s and if you do, it won't be for long because oink is hard to seed at it with its large userbase. Vectoral 100mbit can go upto 11 mb/s (atleast mine does) so you will hardly be maxing it out.

48 hours for me, but i asked for a custom install (Fedora Core 6) so it's normally 24 hours

yeah, you gotta ask for a custom os to have fedora 6, but there is no fee

i didn't try Fedora Core 4 myself but i think that doesn't matter much having FC4 or FC6 for our torrents use but i prefered to ask for FC6 because i've been frustrated with the shitty CentOS lately (old wine version in yum repository etc...) and wanted to be sure would be easy this time

I'm sure you have all the required apps (wine, xterm, vnc) available with yum install tool in FC4 too (but maybe not the most recent version).

leeware is a VPS, leaseweb and vectoral are dedicated servers. I can't really say I've personally had good times with VPS lol

For $60/mo I get 2TB bw, 160GB HDD, and an athlon64 on leaseweb. Looks like I win ;)

Leaseweb supports Windows. In fact, they've had some fairly good deals recently on some Windows based setups with a sweet Xeon processor.

Personally, I've used both.. And my vote will always go to leaseweb. Not sure which datacenter vectoral hosts their servers in, but I do know leaseweb's locations are top notch, and b/c of their large customer base they tend to get priority.

It was one of their monthly promotions :P
From what I can tell, their deals tend to vary depending on how much business they do that month and what they have left over. Awesome service though, my server has been up for over a year with the only downtime being when they replaced my APC port b/c they thought it might be malfunctioning (remote reboot) which was also impressive b/c most hosts will just leave it until it actually breaks :D

leaseweb is excellent i agree, but stop using it because i wanted more bandwith, 2 TB isn't that much, 3 TB is better (vectoral) :)

I've tried both. What I liked from Leaseweb is that I used to max out download and upload speeds. Upload speed doesn't get low while downloading. It's main problem, only 2TB bandwith and price. Vectoral, good bandwith/price relation, nice hardware.

you have a point, the only thing i don't like about Vectoral is that upload speed is not awesome while you download at fast speed

On Leaseweb speed is perfect
