Making A Movie File On Hdd

Hello, I was wondering how to make a movie on my HDD from a dvd? So I can watch it using windows media player when ever I want to? In other words How do I rip a DVD to one file to be watched or distibuted through Kazaa? Please someone help me out?

My favorite package is GordianKnot (http://gknot.doom9.org). It has all the software that I need, although I don't follow the instructions that come with it...just look on Doom9 and you will find a proper tutorial...
