Minneapolis bridge collapses....

So I'm sitting here watching the boob tube and all 3 news channels cut to breaking news. I-35W, a major highway with a bridge over the Mississippi river here in downtown Minneapolis has collapsed.

It's a sickening site, I pray for the people involved in this. :(

I saw this on the news just before 8. omg. I know a lot of people who are afraid of this happening and here it happened. How does something like this happen? Was it damaged and noone knew?

I feel terrible for those folks. You put your life on responsible authorities to make sure nothing like this atrocity could happen, yet it still does.

Im thinking that bridge passed state safety inspection before that tragedy happend.

Same way the almost decrepit bridges of my hometown passes those inspections every year yet now i wonder if a tragedy like this could happen anyway.

Yeah I agree, was a terrible thing. Hopefully this tragedy will be learned from and some better steps will be taken to make sure its the last one like this......

This is such a horrible tragedy... I read there was a school bus (among the 100~ cars) in the bridge at the time. I also pray for everyone involved.

That's why I don't drive on bridges.

Perhaps if more money was spent on Bridge repairs and less on Wars, all the bridges in the USA would be safe.
