Well you say you want your system to start at a particular time right? Well lets say for arguments sake that that time was 2:00pm - so when its 2:00pm, you could maybe turn your system on?

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,5439-page,1-c,internettools/description.html

Schedule files to be downloaded later, when you are ready to retrieve them. You can drag and drop files into the folder, and you can also set a specific site and have it download all files based on your specifications. This release is limited to one scheduled download per session.

http://www.topshareware.com/Schedule-download-1178.htm

Schedule is a user friendly and dependable 32-bit automation task scheduler used by major corporations worldwide. Schedule provides the tools you need to automate your repetitive and / or complex tasks. Tasks can be scheduled to launch based on a flexible range of dates, times, window events, file events and options. Copy or FTP files. Launch and control programs. Logoff or reboot your PC.

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Network_and_Internet/Download_Managers/Scheduled_Downloads_Folder.html

Integrates a new 'Scheduled Downloads Folder' onto theIE4 'Links' toolbar. Drag & drop file links to the folder and your PC will automatically download them overnight for you to have the next morning. It uses the Task Scheduler component of IE4, so changing the download schedules is easy. Uses zero resources while not downloading. Great for those big downloads you usually put off!

Surely you just need a link to whatever download software you are using. That would then automatically link to the broadband.

So for example start everything you want in uTorrent then close it uTorrent down. Get it to restart at the appointed time and your torrents will automatically re-start

Or do you mean something else.

im guessing the software works by waking up the machine through a lan connection. which means your gonna need another machine on to wake up the one you want.

The big problem is if the machine is off it cant check the time so how does it know when to turn on. its impossible without another machine to tell it. might be worth asking in softwareworld.

Why not ask your best friend to download the Torrents for you!! ..saves loads of bandwidth..and before you know it; you are a leech..and can happily join the Bittorrent section without feeling embarrassed..

some mobo bioses (such as mine) have a feature to schedule a boot. Once the os is running, there is a myriad of software that can be found to accomplish your other goals.
