NetCaptor > IE in every way but it isn't free and serial doesn't do sh!t so you'll need a crack to make it work.

Opera is ok too 'cause its features beat every other browser, but it has very limited support for just about every kinda thing (like Javascript, non-standard protocols, etc.)

I like IE also. Install the Google toolbar and then run through the BrowserTune section of PCPitstop (http://www.pcpitstop.com). This will really help you configure it properly. Be forewarned- it takes forever to get through the whole thing!

Mozilla for me...

Mozilla is going to be replaced by the new and improved mozilla firebird. Mozilla firebird is one of the best browsers by mozilla Ive ever seen. You guys should check it out, its really good and lightweight. As for IE of course there can be no replacement ultimately becaue IE was designed for windows. So naturally nothing can really fully take its place. The browsers that claim to be a replacement for IE are really based on the same rendering engine and framework as IE and its just integrated into it.

i had google toolbar but i uninstalled it beacuse if u install google toolbar with advanced features, it sends the information to google about the all sites u visit.

check it out (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=47457&hl=google+toolbar)

IE - it was already there, and it works. ;)

Tried Netscape once - BIG mistake!

IE works, but sometimes fucks up with Javascript. You need to do a lot of configuring to make it work better.

MOZILLA is the best, and except for email, can be an IE replacement. Its fast, customizable, skin-able, automatically blocks pop ups, can block ads, intergrates AIM and AOL's email, and has lots of cool little features that make it a nice "home page."

opera has to be the best in my opinion with avantbrowser as my back up i never use IE.
Avant browser is a bit like myie2

Opera 95% of the time and Slimbrowser as back up. Opera kicks ass, my only complaint is that the pop up blocker built in is too aggressive, when i enable it some sites that load things in new pages don't work. Opera 7 seems much more tolerant of bad code than previous versions, so its getting there. I would hate to go back to IE, I can't go back to not having mouse gestures. Also opera is faster, has tabbed windows and looks (with a well chosen skin) 10x better than any other browser I've used.

Opera 7.11 is da best. However, for Windows Updates and stuff like that Internet Explorer

Well, I downloaded Avant Browser to se what it was like and I was amazed!
It is now my default browser and probably will be for the rest of time!
I must say that it is definitely worth downloading as a replacement to IE because it is IE with extras, everything relates to IE! You use the same Favourites folder and all that. I thought it would be like Opera, completely different than IE but quite incompatible with some sites, but I was wrong.
Well, I'm pretty impressed. I will now dub Avant Browser as 'Hella Class'.
It's a pity there aren't many skins for it. :(

Edit: As I said, this is definitely worth a try.

Edit: I also like that RoboForm thing that comes with it, very handy indeed.

My line up would be:

1. Opera 7.11
2. IE
3. Mozilla

There's an option in Opera that allows it to "look" like IE to web servers. You probably have this turned on.

[Edit]: Wtf is going on with the forums lately??

i use IE6 the most, though occasionally use Fast

the problem with fast is when using msn and fast simultaneously, it can get annoying

people who have tried will know what i mean...

When Mozilla Firebird becomes stable, I'm going to trash Internet Exploder and just use Firebird. But 'till that day comes, I'm using IE since legacy mozilla bites.

Personally I use IE or Mozilla.

To those of you that like avant or slimbrowser I have heard good things about both, but don't be fooled into thinking that your not still using IE or at least part of it. Both of these run ontop of IE or at least part of it. Gets rid of a lot of the overhead. Thats why they run faster.

To those having java problems and are running XP, make sure you have the actual java run time installed

Download java software (http://java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en)

and not windows virtual machine that microsoft shipped with many copies of xp.

See, that is why I cannot wait until litePC for XP is released. I'm going to personally take quite a bit of joy whilst trashing a lot of the garbage bundled with XP Home Edition.

I would suggest Mozilla Firebird.

It is compact and has all the things I need. :)
