adding subtitle to dvd

Is there a way to add a subtitle to a dvd?

get the k-lite codec pack, that has vob-sub which will add subs to your movies. are you talking about burning them?
or a retail dvd should have subs in the menu options

i am talking about dvdr (4.7 gb)
i want to add subs that there isn't in the menu
