View Full Version : Best Way to Get Oink Ratio

Any suggestions?

I have been seeding 50 albums and upload 200mb in a day if lucky!
The apps i try to upload either get removed or a faster seed jumps on(resulting in me uploading like .1-.2 of it!)

Have been trying to seed for over a week(leeware+home con) and only have .5 ratio. Any suggestions? Have tried partial sharing, uploading from other trackers etc(stuff that works on every other tracker i use) with no luck

why do you want to download more than 200mb of music a day?

Well at least to get to 1.0 ratio. 200mb IF lucky yesterday only 60 mb and i would like to start getting flac if i could afford it

I wonder how anyone could have such a low ratio with Leeware box. I usually get an average 2+ during my buffering days with 3Mbit uplink.

search the warez scene for lynda tuts, then see if they are on oink yet. If not - upload em because most are 1.5 gigs and so if u seed to 1 person u get 1.5 gigs of upload

thats what I do and I have a ratio of around 3

go to the Rosetta Stone the big one in the Appz section and get just one language that is popular. I grabbed the Spanish one and am getting a nice return on it all the time.

Any suggestions?

upload albums that you have and that are not already on the tracker in the lossless format

i wouldent suggest this, that file is prettymuch long dead for seeding, all the "leechers" are partial seeding

if you run a seedbox and can get the knack of making a good choice, you might easily get a 70-100GB buffer per week. look around top 10 users' choices carefully.

i think you should use seedbox.. it is the best way i think..

even with a seedbox you have to know what to seed

A seedbox is a dedicated computer used to seed torrents, primarily to help a user increase their amount uploaded and therefore increase their ratio on a private site.

A seed box is a rented server with a fast connection that you can use to upload lots of gigs on trackers. do a search there are tonnes of threads answering that question.

btw, put some fuucking clothes on. don't need any Aussies walking around in their speedos :noes:

EDIT:
beat me to it Thor, but only by seconds.

best way to increase ratio is by upping your own rips in flac (i feel bad for encoding flac level 0, so i go for flac level 8 just to help people out)

another thing you can do is grab something popular (not big, with leechers) or even a collection such as a complete verve recording that is about a gb. people usually come looking for those because people just like download and collecting older music plus, leechers will download off of you since there are about 1-10 seeders at a time on these torrents. remember that you are in the clear as long as you don't download more than 5gb if you are a new user (if you are already over 5gb then i suggest you upload your own stuff).

the method i use the most is searching the net for lossless rips of obscure music or collections. people in the w a r e z scene sometimes upload lossless material. that stuff really helps my ratio

if you don't have a seedbox try to leave your computer on as long as possible. i leave mine on 24/7. because most leechers on oink will only download from you for 1-20mins (on most torrents) at about 10-20 kb/s (this is the case for me at least). i have 120 torrents running and i only manage to upload 450mb a day.

i have a up stream of 45 kb/s

oink is a great place when you have the buffer for it (i have an 80gb buffer)

remember that you have to give before you receive

good luck

Ive only got a 60gb buffer since i gave up lol, as thats probably all the buffer im gonna need for a while :)

I was looking for any new release with 3+ people on in and just downloading it faster then everyone else and uploading 2x as fast, if it doesnt upload at a decent speed by 10% i usually ditch it.

If you want to get a good ratio upload the latest scene releases.

I have uploaded over 4GB in the last 3 days doing this.

when i usually only get one song in an album i leave them seeding as long as i can it's not like there is a harm in leaving em seeding. They eventually seed back that at least for me.

suggestion: find the downloads they got on oink on other sites or start downloading a (normally big) file which has many leechers and few seeders or do partial seeding :)

partial seeding is good but i see oink will take weeks of seeding usually only get 100mb uploaded a day and even with my slow conn i can do more than that.

Let me elaborate on my previous post.

I'm a member of SCC and they upload the latest scene releases very quickly (bonus it is free leech too) so jump on the latest torrents and upload them to OINK. This is also very handy for any other tracker you have as they usually get uploaded 1-2 days later so you can boost your ratio on many trackers ;)

had one som time ago and no point in getting one again just for oink when i can seed fine without it just takes a bit of time.
