DVD shrink and dvd decryptor usually does the trick.

Yup, same as me.

I've never "upgraded" to DVDFab. :snooty:

The best DVD ripping app is RipIt4Me (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/RipIt4Me) - just one click and you're done in 5 minutes...

...then just burn the DVD files with Nero.

P.S. Ripping and re-encoding a DVD9 is more advanced. But if you want to go for the best picture quality, RipIt4Me and DVD Rebuilder + CCE is the best app combination.

Dvd Decryptor Yes. Best software out yet. To "unprotect" your dvd, and backup.

Dvd Shrink, very good software, this is for resizing your dvd if you do not have DVD9 dvd-r's. Ways to resize include, reducing quality, cutting out previews, extras, etc.

Most dvd movie's now a days require DVD9 dvd-r's, a bit more expensive, and for a exact duplicate, then the DVD5 dvd-r's. But still it is workable.

For more detailed instructions, mods if you don't mind, check out Doom9 (http://www.doom9.org/) . The best in video and audio tutorials, instructions, etc.

Good Luck! ;)
