I D/L Vice City from site, and everything is fine. No corruption, burned fine, and works well for a while. The problem is when I try going to the first mission it restarts my computer. It always happens at the same spot, right before I get to the pink marker, behind the carport, where I'm supposed to meet a guy on a boat, and he introduces me to his daughter. I can't get to the pink marker.
Does anyone have this problem, and how can I fix it. Thanks in advance.

Update your video drivers, install DirectX 9, and make sure your system meets all the hareware requirements (http://www.take2games.com/index.php?p=support&product=156,3,Grand%20Theft%20Auto:%20Vice%20City,PC,Rockstar_Games,gtavc).

Also, try running DXDIAG to see if it detects any problems.

Where exactly did you download it from? How big is the file?

My specs :
1.8GHz Intel celeron
256mb DDR SDRAM memory
60GB HDD
Intel 3D graphics card

Everything I tested is fine. I got it from WZONE and ftp sites, but there is nothing corrupt with the files. It says I need a system pack 1. Could that be the reason?

Yes, it was the bin and cue files and they work fine except for that certain part, which makes it unplayable. Any other ideas, would be appreciated. Thanks for helping.

You mean Service pack 1 for Windows XP?

If so, go to Windows Update (http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp) and get it. Hope you didn't use the FCKGW key :D

I'm not so sure about that Intel 3D graphics card. How much ram does it have? You should have at least a 64MB Geforce or ATI card. That's most likely the cause of your problem.

I had a feeling it was my graphics card. Thanks for the help.

Vice City has a patch for bad graphics I think. Check rockstars site and look for Vice City's downloads. I know there is a patch out there that not everyone needs. You might be one who needs it.

Yeah, the 1.1 patch is only for people who experience strange graphical corruption. It doubt if it'll fix this problem, but it's worth a shot. Remember that if you upgrade, you'll also need to find a version 1.1 No CD crack (try MegaGames.com). You can get the patch here...
