Probably ones that first got their hands on the Torrentbites tracker. i would say that boxtorrents is probably the oldest but its anime only.

torrentbytes, torrentleech and filelist are there since the near beginning i guess
and as far as i believe torrentbytes is the oldest of them three
if there are any private trackers older than torrentbytes i doubt it is from more than a year since BT tecnology was in its first steps (just a guess here)

edit: torrentbytes isn't the oldest of the three, filelist is, being online 173 weeks ago, while torrentbytes was online 137 weeks ago :)

i wasnt talking about torrentbytes because its the successor of torrentbites and naturally private trackers were quite popular already.

I was just browsing through my "Favorites" from 2003. I bookmarked the original TorrentBits on September 3, 2003, and as I recall, I was one of their early members. As you all know, TorrentBIts went down long ago and TorrentBits2 became Torrentbytes

My TVTorrents bookmark is from September 19, 2003. TVTorrents is still alive and kicking, although back in 2003 itwas not a private tracker. I don't know if the guys running TVTorrents today are the same ones as 2003.

Back in 2003, the best way to obtain .torrent files was from IRC servers, and the only bittorrent client was the one by Bram Cohen.

See this link for a brief history of bit-torrent from Wired Magizine, 2005:

Bittorrent was breaking news on CNET on May 27, 2003:

If memory serves me correctly, it went down the latter end of 2004, as did SuprNova, UKF and Loki. Check the Slyck archives for the actual stories.

I don't think so, the Arabs didn't start the BitTorrent idea, so they won't be the oldest!
