Now that I've got this new job I finally have time to expand my language knowledge.
I was going to freshen up my german, but then I remembered who much I hate the language, so I'm going for a completely new one.

Japanese this year, Russian next year :D

Skweeky, get tapes and/or discs for both languages.

They are both kind of tricky to absorb phonetically, so you'll want plenty of exposure to them. I put them both on hold for a bit, and spent more time on programming languages instead, but for what it's worth, that's my advice.
Both languages use a bunch of phonemes you probably aren't used to, and japanese in particular is highly dependent on tone. What's seemingly the same combination of phonemes can mean very different things depending on your tone.

They are both great languages, though, so do it.

You don't have the language gift, obviously :snooty:

Yeah, it was a fantastic day. Best wedding I've ever been at.
