View Full Version : Stuff you're supposed to like

Everyone is like "Dad's Army" is comedy genious and I'm all like "How". Same with "Monty Python's Flying Circus" just not funny.

Does anyone else have things like that, comedy or music or other stuff. You're supposed to like it but you think "No, it's pish"

Sports on TV.

What about t'Arras and Wrastlin'

Not at the same time like, that's just mad talk.

Only Fools and Horses

That can be marginally OK, sometimes. I wouldn't change the channel to watch it, however if I had two broken legs and the remote control was broken I wouldn't crawl to the TV to change the channel away from it.

It's certainly not the classic people seem to think, other than the occasional scene, like Trigger having had his brush for years. (See recent posts).

Pretty much all of them. When I was in my teens I used to follow footie and hockey, just to try and fit in, which pretty much took away all the fun.

It's not that I hate the sports, it's just that watching them doesn't hold any particular attraction for me, especially not when it seems to be more about money than having fun, for the players.

Actually being there watching a game can be nice (wimmins volleyball ftw), but I don't really follow any teams or owt.

I can't imagine not watching sport on TV.

I often do it when I'm doing something else as well, maybe having a nice chat, or fannying about on the internets or something. However tomorrow I will be watching t'Hoops game live on TV. In a room on my own, so no-one can talk to me or distract me.

Flying Circus is funny. As for sports, it depends on which one. I usually only will watch hockey.

How can someone be so wrong about so many things.

The only one you got right was Freddie Mercury. What the fuck was he all about.

(Well you also spelt Royle "Royale" but we're ignoring that for the porpoises of this thread.)

Lilmiss

I tink Queen were a fantastic rock band, n Mercury was the perfect example of what a stage performer should be.
I just can't stand his fricking voice.

Red Dwarf, The Office and Royale Family were just overhyped shite imo.

I'd agree on Royle Ramily being over-rated. Over stuff that lots of people like but I hate includes Dave Chapelle, Little Britain and dessert.

Pretty much all comedy type series on TV.

The first few are new to me so are funny to some degree, But after the first 2/3 episodes, I just sit there for a few minutes thinking "Same shit, New episode" and then i just switch the channel to some more stuff that barely interests me.

When I watched it it was like watching a documentary filmed in my grandma's house.

That's exactly why I don't like it.
If I wanted to watch a bunch of skanky slobs wedged on a sofa talking about the telly and drinking tea/beer, I'd visit my Nana's place more often. Although her rambling on about Jamie Oliver and food she'll never actually cook is oddly more entertaining than those fecked up cretins.

No, I understood it. It just wasn't as funny as people made out.

Or indeed funny at all. Other than a few notable. Exceptions.

I think that's what happened. There were a couple of sketches which were absolute genious. So people decided (unconsciously) that the rest must be as well.
