So, I went to the site today to just stare at the login page knowing I'll never get past it, and so I thought hey why not go to /signup.php manually?
So to my surprise, there it is, the FTN signup form! I was ecstatic! I fill out my details... my hand is shaking as I mouse over to the sign up button, okay, here I am, and I click!!! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd
404 - Not Found
On takesignup.php
Oh FTN how you tease me!
I didn't really think it would work, but I figured, why not try?

Well I kinda got excited, usually a tracker would say signups are closed. :-P
Edit: No it wasn't really shaking, I added that for drama, I wanted to say sweat was on the bridge of my nose too...

FWIW, the whole post was supposed to be a sarcastic dramatic story... the only thing I actually did when I saw the signup page was smile, and when it didn't work I shrugged.

I was a member at FTN till it was disabled for inactivity, and may I say that FTN and the WIAW thread is proof that advertising and numbering purely by hard to get... work...

the only thing I actually did when I saw the signup page was smile, and when it didn't work I shrugged.

Had a similar story with E****. Suddenly my monitor started to shake violently and a loud popup showed up. It asked me to sing Queen: "You are the Champion". Also I had to answer three difficult question about Richie Blackmore's Mating Habits, The Weather Report latest album, and the secret of Al Di Meola's hidden life. Then I was IN, Dudes. From that time on, my computer has been always playing different kind of lossless music whenever rebooted.

Same thing happened to me when i first visit FTN signup page, damn i was so excited and my eyes over sized, i was so damn focus like filling an exam paper in the last minute :D

it not a joke, wt if the signup page appears !!! i mean they didn't lie and said "a confirmation email had been sent ... etc" then u find nothing in ur inbox!
do they have to put the "User limit reached" message, so u can guys admit it closed :P

will . if ftn want to open signups or not it's their own choice
they are a private tracker and they want to keep it this way for ever ,good for them
but the thing is
they make a fake sign up page why is that?
to make fun at people who want to register and be a part of their tracker
what that tells you?

they let you go through the whole registration process and they just stood their laughing at you.

Agree with that. I don't have FTN, but i think that's a mere joke that doesn't harm no one, Sysops can have humour sense too!

i doubt they will open up
they did give users invites a while back to increase userbase
thats more than helpful
they did not have half as much hassle as REVOLT staff did
guess ftn staff missed all the fun but ftn opening signups will be the day demonoid becomes LEVEL 10!

They should open for proven loyal users- by ip- n users sites ratios. Thats a pain though so? who knows. I will prob never see s** or F*n - ever. too hard!
