http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/3441/polsfeature11da8.jpgThe FBI and the AG are hunting for cybersex – and to hell with the Constitution

"On June 9, 2004, Javier Perez's dream of becoming a college math professor came to an abrupt end. Just after 6am, Perez's housemate was jarred from sleep by pounding at the front door of the Oak Hill house they shared with one other roommate. A brace of law enforcement officers -- FBI agents, accompanied by investigators with the Texas attorney general's Cyber Crimes Unit -- was demanding entry. By the end of that morning, Perez's academic ambitions were finished, and by December of the following year, Javier Perez (known to his friends as "Jerry") was headed to a federal penitentiary in Louisiana to serve a 57-month sentence for possession of child pornography."

I read this in the paper yesterday and it was an excellent read. Its quite lengthy but well worth it.

"But they did find images that officials say are of child pornography, some involving prepubescent minors, on some of the discs taken from Perez's house. (The agents later claimed that Perez directed them to the discs containing child pornography, but Perez says he was held in the kitchen during the entire search.) In fact, there were many such images, they said, perhaps 600 in all (although this evidence is unavailable) -- more than enough to charge Perez, now 40, with possession of child porn and to put him away in prison until mid-2010, to ensure that he'll have to register with the state as a sex offender for the rest of his life and that he'll never again work as an educator."
Holy shit. :O

that's crazy, he was trying to download the whole internet.

well even if he wasn't getting the child porn intentionally, and he knew he had it, he should have gotten rid of it. he had to know it was illegal and OCD or not he screwed himself. if he's innocent i do feel bad for him. i tell you what when i got out my first stop would be to kill rob ramos.

I'd like to be the guy that's shocked and appalled when reading the article due to the nature of it. Though fact of the matter is that I think this man should die by hanging. If there is the off chance that he's innocent I withdraw my previous statement of execution. I do hope a that a teacher of all people wasn't involved. :dabs:

the real crime is that the officers might have let the real criminal go free. But as long as the got to arrest someone they still get payed.

I wonder if that lady from new york got arrested since at one time she would have been in possession of child porn

What a strange story, didn't the judge, district attorneys or I don't who notice all the sloppy police work?

Seems to me that guy had no intent of watching any of that, let alone do anything else. He didn't even label his CDs.
What were they thinking?
