I installed folder security personal in a directory and made a file hidden and password protected. In the same directory I had a game. after one or two days, I uninstalled the game. But then some other files in the directory was missing including Folder security personal's file. When I try to reinstall , it gives this error:

I restarted several times but I can't install it.It always gave this error.
So:
1)How can I find the file which is hidden and password protected?
2) If I can't find the file, how can I install folder security personal?

For once i will say it - do a system restore to prior to uninstalling the game.

....and don't forget to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted :smilie4:

Actually, if you are using XP, it should have automagically created a system restore point before you installed the game, you should be able to go back to it.

Sorry not all installs create a restore point. In fact very few ime. It's a good habit to create one, labeling it something like "Before I f'd my OS w/triple my download speed magic super duper software".

There must be something in the registry telling the computer that the program is still installed.Maybe if you run a registry cleaner like regsupreme pro,jv16 powertools,or regvac it will get rid of it.I have used all of these without ever having any problems on my system so they have never "accidentally" deleted something i really need.

Is there a software that I can find hidden files?
by the way, system restore point is closed and I can't format because pc which I am using isn't mine

if he deletes the reference in the registry, he will definetly never get the file back.
I have had similar issues with "lock file" programs, they are to put it subtly ...*sensitive*
If he cleans it out and reinstalls it wont bring the file back
i only see one solution which is system restore (this is rare)
unless you know msdos.

But if I delete the reference which means software's reference, I may reinstall and find the hidden file.

this method dont work with all the folder security personal software

it works with some and dont work with some

it`s depend on the software itself and it`s ver.

i dont promise u anything but if u one lucky man it will work just fine ...

go get (CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner) and type in it the Full name of the software

and make it search for it and delete every reg. file for the software
(P.S type down the ver. of the software cuz u have to install the same ver. of it later after u done )

restart your PC and go to programs files (Or wherever u installed your software) and dell any remaining files

then install the same ver. of the software in the same place

restart your PC and try to show all the hidden files and this should work i think !!

and again it doesnt work with all the folder security personal

if you delete it you will lose the file.
