The Ms-dos Commands For Getting An Ip

Any one know the MS-DOS command to find out the IP of the person you just sent a file to through an instant messenger? I know there is one because I have used it before, I just cant remember...

u mean ipconfig /displaydns it brings up a list of connections i use it alot to get rid of leechers :P

Well, there's netstat -n, but that just lists all the connections to and from your computer at the time you run the program. It doesn't give you any information about the connection other than if it's established, or waiting, so you'll have to figure out which one of those IPs is the person you're sending to.

thank u i knew there was an easier way i just couldnt remember it but ipconfig /displaydns works too lol but it doesnt show which ports

msn uses ports 6891 - 6900 ;)

you must type netstat while the file is actually transfering.

Hmm, the new msn 6 must use different ports, because on the active connections, i saw nothing in the range of 6891 - 6900

I have even tried to block those port but I can still receive/send files using MSN 6

btw if u dont know dos, dont ever type "deltree" commands, because they delete entire directorys of files. (alot of newbies in chatrooms seem to do these from the run promt because a stupid guy in the chat says this will box yo machine into a hacker station.. lol yea.........right!)
