How do you update the linux kernel in slackware 9.0?

im using the 2.2.XX series and want to upgrade to 2.4.21

first get yourself the new kernel form here (http://www.kernel.org/)

then follow this rather nice guide (http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO/)

it should not take too long to compile.

ok...um theres no /linux in the /usr/src/ directory. instead theres rpm

try installing the source for the kernal ;)

hmm i cant install it.

well i think ill try to move the files into /usr/src/
