http://torrentfreak.com//images/masioka.jpg"Currently in Hong Kong promoting the hit TV show ‘Heroes’, actor Masi Oka who plays Hiro Nakamura in the show, made some pro-BitTorrent comments."

"According to the International Herald Tribune, the Emmy nominated actor noted that when they went to France recently, the reaction from the fans was very positive as many of them had already seen the show, even before it aired on TV.

Of course, in order to do this the fans didn’t manipulate the space-time continuum like Hiro does in the show, they simply grabbed a .torrent file and downloaded with their favorite client. There’s nothing quite like a free sample to generate interest in your product and this French situation is a shining example of that.

Despite the great reaction in France, Masi commented with care: “It takes a lot of money to create a really high quality show. We have a lot of support from the advertisers … all the buyers. We just feel like we’re doing a disservice to them if we do BitTorrent”

Although Masi Oka is an intelligent man with an IQ of 180 and a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics under his belt, it doesn’t take a genius to work out what he worked out already about BitTorrent promotion: “if we get a lot of people to watch the show” he said, “it’s only going to be great for the show in the future too.”

Oka seems to recognize that true fans of productions such as ‘Heroes’ not only watch the shows via BitTorrent, TV or both, but will likely go out and buy the DVDs too - if the show is any good of course - which ‘Heroes’ definitely is.

“Hopefully, if they can buy the DVD after they watch it on BitTorrent, that would be great” he said.

Perhaps realizing that his bosses at NBC may not appreciate such an influential guy making pro-file sharing comments, Oka added a disclaimer:

“I am not advocating BitTorrent”

No, of course you’re not Masi, we understand!"

"Before becoming the overnight success he is today, Oka, who graduated with math and computer science degrees from Brown University in 1997, bided his time while looking for acting gigs by working at George Lucas’ special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic. The actor has said that even though his new job demands most of his time, he will continue to work for Lucas’ company when he can. Before “Heroes,” Oka appeared in bit parts on TV episodes of “Gilmore Girls,” “Reba” and “Still Standing” before completing a five episode run on “Scrubs.” The actor’s film credits include “Legally Blonde 2,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and “Along Came Polly.” As of early 2007, it has been reported that Oka is in talks to star in his next film project, the Robert Luketic-directed “21,” based on the true story of M.I.T. students who taught themselves how to gamble and won millions in Vegas. Before that project enters production, however, Oka will try his luck at the 2007 Golden Globes, where he is nominated for a Best Supporting Actor award."

Got it:
"Q: But you have an IQ of 180. A: I took a test at an early age and I scored a 189. First of all, it was a Japanese test so maybe there's a different exchange rate. I'm a real dumb-dumb in real life. I'm just book smart. But definitely not street smart. The other day I lost my jacket in a cab. And I'll forget things every time I leave the house."

lol

Ok I had some free time, so I went exploring.
I found an interesting quote from: http://www.aceviper.net/aceviper_net/ace_intelligence/aceviper_questions_and_answers/aceviper_interesting_intelligence_related_questions_and_answers.html
"According to Guiness Book of Records, the smartest person in the world is Marilyn vos Savant who scored IQ 228 Terman as a 10 year old. This would, according to recent research, correspond to about IQ 185 at adult age. That score is, at least, surpassed by the chess player Bobby Fisher (187)."

What does this mean? Well I know this is a rough and inaccurate calculation, but if take a proportion of child-measured-IQ/adult-measured-IQ (228/185, in this case), I can find out Masi's Ault IQ, roughly.
If 228/185=189/x, x=153 (Masi's IQ as a kid was 189). That is still high as hell. Mensa's calling you, Masi! :01:

Wow, for once a celebrity kinda supports bittorrent. "Hopefully, if they can buy the DVD after they watch it on BitTorrent, that would be great."
