I know I used Utorrent 1.7.2 and found that it was sending inaccurate stats to the trackers I'm on. How's Utorrent 1.7.4? I'm thinking of giving it a shot... but I have so far found that 1.6.1 works the best. Discussion?

Not even gonna try it. No point since at moment every tracker I use doesnt allow it and only allows 1.6.1

stay away from UT 1.7.1 and UT 1.7.3 as they are junk. UT 1.7.2 and Ut 1.7.4 look to be reporting and working right with most if not all trackers.

by the way, stay away from utorrent 1.7.x if you are using it with wine on a linux server, i experienced some display problems that are very annoying , viva 1.6.1!

i didnt want to upgrade from 1.6.1 but was forced to because it was reporting bad data

so im on 1.7.2 but im not upgrading again i like to stick with what works

so if you have 1.6.1 stick with it if not 1.7.2 works

I usually don't like to upgrade until I have to but decided to take the plunge with 1.7.2 yesterday. As far as I can tell most trackers are allowing it now, and I really like the file support. It's great for multi-volume torrents.

Using 1.7.2, but as soon as the trackers allow it i'll probably update to 1.7.4.

I share the same opinion. I have allowed both on my site as well.

Went back to 1.6.1 this morning as Bitsoup, of all places, didn't approve of 1.7.4.

I'm sticking with 1.7.2 for now, seems fine for me. Good to see you back Melvin :D I too had probs on wine/ubunt with 1.7.2 so had to go back to 1.6.1 there...

Looks like 1.6.1 wins then lol. I've just thought of a brilliant ideal.. How about a new feature in utorrent where u can emulate the version your running, that way you can set which version to run depending on what site your downloading from and that would make it easy for you since some sites like one version and others dont. Soounds good in theary but I guess you could just as easy run 2 instances of which ever version.

Besides for stability and bug fixes, does these recently released versions/builds consists of DRM? I know the last version was v1.6.1 that was free of that garbage.

It's a shame that Bram Cohen sold it to Bittorrent, which was already bought by Hollywood......
