I get a speed of 1.2mb off of OptimumOnline in newyork but I think it can be faster from what I heard

I think he means the max speed when using torrents :unsure:

I get about 2 Mb Down and 200 kps up off of my 10 Mb/1 connection, though people talk about maxing out their connections I'm not so sure about that.

Yeah i think he mean what "sear" just say, and i have 4 MB ISP speed, 2 to 3 MB Down, 200 to 300 KB UP, and never maxed my speed in bittorrent b4 :unsure:

I always max out on SCT. FTN downloads are a close second.

SCC can be shocking great times as well.

BTW, max is around 825 kbps.

its nice that alot of you guys get symmetrical bandwidth...out here in orange county CA i get 8mb/down and 500kb/up

I changed my package since is cheaper and I'm not staff at my ISP any more.

Mine is 10Mbit down and 1Mbit up.

I can max my connection at Oink and ScT in a lot of torrents and some other trackers. Sometimes BitmeTV surprised me. Fast speeds even though there weren't many seeders. TL maxes my download as well.

Newsgroups max my connection anytime. I don't care what people say. ScT will not max my connection on a lot of torrents. Only popular torrents that have a good amount of seeders. Oink has to be the fastest tracker there is though. Lightning fast speeds.

I'm in NY too. Pay the extra for BOOST. It upgrades you to 30mbit down / 5mbit up!

agreed. Oink is slow as shit, but it does have good content so why complain.

btw skiz whats the secret for maxing out your connection. I agree that sct has lightening fast speeds but I still don't hit 10 Mb the best I've ever gotten is just over 2.

I am waiting for the god of all ISP's FIOS(verizon) to come to my area where it actually gives you the speed that the ad's says your going to get:)

70kB/s up actually it's usually a bit faster (1mbit)

I wish I had just a bit faster upstream.

Maybe you guys are downloading crappy content that no one wants or just uploaded by some random user. At Oink I can max my download in no time. At Sct I have to wait a few tracker updates to get some speed. At Oink people seed as much as possible. It's the fastest tracker I have found so far.

At Oink anything that is good gets sooo many seeders in no time. Being music things get very well seeded super fast too.

@saulin & fantasyx72, it depends on the torrent. my connection is fine. Oink is slow face it. Sure if you have a torrent that has lots of seeders it's going to be fast, but if it has only a couple which is usually the case for the music I download it's slow as shit. On SCT if you only have a few seeders your still going to get really good speeds that isn't the case on oink. But seeing as it's music and the files aren't that big I don't really care about waiting a minute or two to download an album instead of 30 sec.

Dude you need to take that 10mb and divide it by 8. The number the isps give is megabits not megabytes!
