OK everyone, here is what we have decided. Instead of opening registration or handing out extra invites to everyone we are going to use a rigorous application system. We feel this is a unique and inventive way for our staff members to screen each possible new member to our community. However, we are still going to use the invite system that we have in place. This way our members can still invite their trusted friends but people who do know anyone already on the site can still have the opportunity to join this fine community.

We have also updated our rules. Please make sure you read them!

ah, lol, hadn't clicked through. It's beginning to remind me of the BBS days when sysops used to ask for a photocopy of your drivers license to access the "adult" section.

Do you even link rules.php from the userapp page, or am I just blind?

btw loose != lose

Need to be site savvy. It's not that hard to pull up the page. ;)

Very nice of The DVD Club to do, thanks! :D

Thanks Nightmeare (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/../members/nightmeare-45777) - I do believe that this is inventive - Brokenstone has a similar way of allowing people who have good ratios in other sites in - sure beats the dog eat dog world of invite trading.

Sounds like an easier way to be invited and assures you get the right kind of people too so even better.

Nice step Nightmeare, really effective effort, i also double what Beenieman said.

This is really great. Take away the "rarity" and people don't want to trade it.
You are going to end up with a tracker that has a really high % of people that "are in the right place".

Really inovative. salutes.

Good idea, but what is to stop people linking to other peoples profiles at other sires?

Maybe requiring them to sign up in that username profile would prevent that?

Good stuff Nightmeare, hopefully this keeps out all the bad users that come in with open signups.

Considering they were just running open sign ups recently I doubt it.

The staff is horrible in TDC. They give you warnings without proof. :sick:

I strongly disagree. :huh:

TDC staff, at least from my own experience, is very kind and helpful. Strict but fair. :mellow:
