i downloaded an album tonight from mirc in .tar archive format.
however, the archive is corrupt and i can only play one song from it.
the archive is 93.4MB and should contain 17 tracks according to the contained nfo

please, can anyone suggest any software to rebuild/repair corrupt tar archive, because winRAR can't fix it.

if there's no software for this, can i convert the tar archive to a rar archive then rebuild with winRAR?

thanks in advance for any help on this problem

p.s. re-downloading is gonna be the last option for me, considering i have 56k and it'd take me a long time to download again.

Not 100% sure but this might help. Open the .tar file with WinRAR. Then click the 'commands' menu and select 'Repair Archive'. Might work.

hi there !
this is only a long shot, but you have nothing to lose.
a freeware prog called smartpar 1.3 has the ability
to repair rar files, incomplete at that. so it may do tar as well who knows?
