suggest me a graphic card

well , its time to upgrade my system and i cant decide on the graphic card . keeping in mind that i am a gamer ( not die hard , just amateur ) can anyone suggest a good graphic card for me . i was deliberating upon the xfx 8600GT , but now i am not sure as i dont think the card will last long . my budget is around $250-300 for the graphic card .

If you look around (Newegg, Tigerdirect, etc.), you'll probably find a small variety of 8800 cards for $300.

I think Newegg is having a sale on vid-cards just now.

If you're willing, that should cut down on your shopping effort.

Don't bother with an 8600GT, go with an 8800GTS series. A 320MB one will do you fine.
