Hi all,
Have just noticed that Newsdeamon are offering ssl encryption and 20 connections for £12. I’m currently with Newshosting on the $14 (costs me £8 odd because of international transfer). I’m on a 20Mb connection (Virgin Media) and get around 2400Kb/s when no one else is accessing it. My question is this:
It looks as if Virgin have introduced the proposed capping system as after I’ve downloaded 4Gb between the hours of 4 & 12 the connection drastically drops giving me around 400Kb/s (8 connections maxed out at 50Kb/s which is the capping I think).
Would the 20 connections mean I’d get a better speed as 20 x 50 would give 1000Kb/s or does it not work that way? Also am getting paranoid that they’re now monitoring bandwidth and downloads as a result of the capping so would the SSL encryption help regarding this?
Hope someone knows what I’m talking about! lol
Hope you can help!
