Can't find anything in the FAQ/Forums. :( They are asking me to upgrade my 1.7.2, but i can't because the others trackers i use don't allow higher versions that that...

I would try 1.6.1, but if they tell me to upgrade, that's not really an upgrade... :mellow:

It seems like everytime you switch to a version in the 1.7's they ban it so I'd stick with 1.6.1 for now.

utorrent 1.7.5 is pretty darn stable, only problem is it always asking to if you wish to update to a new version every other week

No, actually i'm not... :huh:

1.7.2 -> 1.7.5 UPgrade.
1.7.2 -> 1.6.1 DOWNgrade.

No need to be offensive. :)

I'm going to try 1.6.1 then.

Edit: BTW, anyone can link me to the standalone version of 1.6.1? Not the EXE one.

Go with 1.6.1 for now it's less problematic then the 1.7's.

the standalone is an exe!
this (http://download.utorrent.com/1.6.1/utorrent.exe) should be it btw, otherwise try oldversion.com (http://oldversion.com)!

edit: do you guys believe that the 1.7 series is unsafe, after the change in ownership and dev-team?

I don't think it's a matter of safety cause if they wanted to get you they could just go back and add something in to the previous versions. I just think the 1.7's have been nothing but problematic. Almost every version has been banned at one time or another from almost every site I'm a member of so why bother with the hassle until all the bugs are worked out. If you are worried about safety with the change in ownership you can always try switching over to Azureus or another client.
