The 'older' 'scene' groups like jfk and replica have really gotten minimal these days; it's possible/probable that too many of them got pinched, and the ones using the names these days (who knows if they're the actual originators? and recent bad recodes from both tend to give the idea that things are simply 'not the same').

But, also, the availability of rental's on all these discs, plus the easy s/w to do either recodes or 'splitting' of tv series discs, means that posting of them (except for xvid or other super-crunched versions) has slowed to a trickle.

A good recent example is the series 'Heroes', which was recoded by 'Emerald' into a total mess, with a bitrate less than 3K. This is the 'scene' standards! Looked like c*ap.

If you own DVDRemake, it's VERY easy to split/strip these without ANY recoding, 1:2 discs. That's what I've been doing for years now (including stripping out of all the slime, of course!). And if you want to do the rebuild path, DVDRebuilder is very cheap as well.

The tools are there, and even the cheapest PC out there today is more than fast enough to do the work 'overnight'. Yep, it'd be nice if someone did the work for you, but counting on that is pretty slim.

I couldn't find them with binsearch or newzleecher.

What did you find them with?

I wouldn't rely upon that site too much. I've looked all over and can't find any of those releases via Usenet.
