I have a Vista home premium laptop connected to the internet by wifi over my home router.
I want to transfer ISO files such as games and movies over to my computer because my writer on the laptop isn't working.
I have an XP computer connected by wire through the same router.

How do I do this?

Create a shared directory. XP and Vista will probably connect automatically.

Goto http://www.portforward.com/ and first find the make of router..then you will need to know what ports are being used (write them down)... as these you are gong to have to learn to open...and no, Vista will not be able to do that for you! :)

might be the router itself- some say they support certain brands and they reject it on the pc. wireless connections are risky. my buddy got hit with a isp notice- didnt visit a torrent-file sharing site ever, had someone hacking his router. make sure the pass it tight! How can a company prove an illegal dl? A person can hack your wireless router outside in their car(if they know how?) ... Thats not fair to us who dont download copyright material. I use p2p for school-research. had to buy 2 routers.

The 2 Links below should hopefully solve your problems and help you setup simple filesharing on a network.
