Longhorn is next. It's just an updated XP with more window dressing.
Expected release date is 2005. Then Yukon Sql server shortly after.
After that comes Blackcomb server, no release date yet.

Really? Are you sure longhorn is the project name? <_<

The Alpha Version has Longhorn splatterd all over it. Heh. Its kinda ugly though since the start up screen is brown i hope they fix that ;)

BTW when is the beta version coming out? Alpha crashes too much

It will be Windows Anti-XP or Windows YZ.

Sorry guy's i just hate all window versions. <_<

(Where is my steady Atari) they stole the whole Window idea from Atari and Apple you know? And it really worked on those 8bit machines.
(Hell they still work! I have 3 Atari's )

It will have more features than people think. For start it will have a new file system (WinFS - Windows File Storage) to replace NTFS. It will be curious to see what Microsoft does about piracy.

Yeah its a known fact that gates stole the source code and other shit from apple a very long time ago. And even though I hate that goofy looking bastard I cant say I wouldnt have done the same thing. Apple never had their source code or anything else patented, thats why gates was able to still the idea with no penalties.

Btw to answer your question. The next edition of windows will be "Windows Apocalypse Edition" codenamed "the day bill gates takes over the world"

Blackcomb isn't a real OS. It's just a collection of ideas/features that will be incorporated into future OSs.

Where do people get this crap...? Don't mistake some lamer's misuse of the word "beta" as proof. Most people are figuring that Longhorn won't go into beta until some time next year.

An unofficial Beta Version is out. But i have the alpha version running on my secondary computer. Its really nice with a re-designed start bar. And yes it is very much like XP.
