98 Games On Xp

i have installed xp pro, and downloaded gta2 and mortal kombat 4, both of these games dont seem to work, is there a way of changing xp to run eariler games ,
i keep getting a message that reports somthing along the lines of
the version of windows that you are running will not run this program or somthing along those lines
any help

You can run them in combatibility mode if you right click on an exe and goto one of the tabs.

normally they will also just run alot of times... only do that if they dont and they should later.
