can somebody post me a link to irc site to download the software to enable me to download movies
used to have it but computer crashed result format result lost software and i cant remember the site name.

You said IRC. IRC is chat. And you can download movies using mIRC. You can download stuff using any IRC client. It uses something called DCC.
