I cant speak for others but I want it for the strong community and excellent staff. I like ScT but it cant compete with FTN in those two things.
ScT is better than FTN in everything and by everything i mean:
Speed
Pre-Times
Community
Staff (some... like lush, deviant and djgrrr)

They are both good and I don't think they should be compared. It always ends up fighting and calling names. I like sct. I bet I would like ftn as well, the design is hot you gotta admit, I haven't gotten any closer look :|.

If staff are so mature, why does Brandon ignore so many Pms on the site and on IRC (back when he was staff). Why did Kimii leave? because of their immaturity. Why did Silenced leave, why did the other owner of FTN leave, yes not Brandon or Zlo there was another guy. Why does Staff fight with each other in the main IRC Channel, zephyr is a great guy, but still immature to fight infront of the entire IRC Channel. What about Silenced and Silver in main IRC? and dont get me started about the community, lot of great users there, but alot of users have no respect for each other at all. In IRC and the forums and just basic backstabbing and shit talking. Get you facts straight m8 ;)
and about Eezee your right, not a friendly person, but still better than the majority of Staff on FTN.
also i have to include that Zlo is the best Staffer on FTN, most mature, most friendly, most inactive and my favourite ftn staff :P

ScT might have speeds and packs, but FTN has a better community, some really cool packs, everyone there is wonderful, and no ratio.
They are very similar, but different enough so that you aren't nuts for wanting both.

So dont go with high level keep different trackers
some months ago sct is on top level and now its easily available with some 30$
i recommended this tracker that i think so and may be easy to get this tracker

We all know each other so well that we can jokingly fight and be abrasive to each other, and no one gets hurt.

So from someone who knows and has both... Some should stop posting and putting them against each other.. and talking shit about teh staff for both sites..(Especially when they have no knowledge or believing some of the shite that is posted here sometimes :whistling) There is no perfection in human beings and staff put up with alot of crap as well.They do this for free.As for Eezee,he is a good guy ,who wubs ScT and likes to troll a little with some people.:P But he has been there for ScT 110%,even before he was staff .
It is a shame so many will or have a distorted perception of different Sites...Lets just fight together against teh system instead.Ahhh I forgot! Thats not what these threads are about....

FTN from 5 300 users it had 12 000 - 15 000 pears. Now that it removed ratio it has 20 000 peers. So it doesn't matter if you say FTN is better or smth, the users don't agree aparently. i think browsing speed is an very interesting critera, that i haven't read about so often on that board so far.
i hate it when a site has slow browsing speeds. i switch from tracker to tracker a lot in my bookmarks and it always annoys me when one site loads remarkably slower than the other.
so i decided to do a little ranking on browsing speeds:
1. sct (absolutely fast and relieable. great speed)
2. oink (enormous browsing speed for such a huge tracker)
3. ftn (it always takes a while to load the startpage)
4. hd-bits (lots of pics, a little slower)
6. revtt (sometimes it sucks)
7. scc
8. tl (get stuck sometimes)
9. dvdclub (barely legal)
10. demonoid (fucking slow)
.
.
.
and hundrets of sites, that are nearly unbrowsable e.g. kg
some people often don't consider this criteria before they want a site.
there are of course other good ones like tt etc. etc.
might be helpful.

FTN is better just for the users that like to kiss staff's ass because they are active here. If Brandon wouldn't have given invites or been active here i am preety sure the number of FTN suporters would have been far smaller. The numbers say everything, 100 000 + vs. 15 000/20 000( 20k just because they removed ratio, usual number is max 15k). If FTN was better ,the numbers would be different , no? And don't mix "why FTN is better for ME with the FACTS( which are ScT is a better tracker , no matter the preference)

I am not lucky enough to have FTN just yet, but i plan to one day. I've talked to several people about FTN and seen the way they help people in the BitTorrent community, FTN member or not. Their staff is unbeatable! They are extremely friendly and helpful, and this greatly contributes to their success as the best tracker on the web. I have ScT and have had good luck with it. And they do have some good staff, but its not comparable to FTN, nothing seems to be. I can say all this without ever using FTN. I'll one day get it, and come back here and fill everyone in on just how much more amazing it is once in. Good luck to all that want it, and I hope to one day have it too and be a part of the amazing community!

If you have SCT you dont need FTN, between MMA Tracker, RevTT, BitMe, BitMeTV, Demonoid, PWT, XWT, Diwana,TL, BlackCats and Oink i am covered for everything.

lol some of this posts amazed. Especially the ones about FTN. Is just a freaking tracker. My dream was to have SCT and I have it and is probably the best tracker as far as content/speed which is what I care about but it can be hard to seed there so I don't use it as much as TL and other trackers or usenet.
The post that FictionWeLive (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/members/fictionwelive-181546) made is just too much. They talk like FTN is heaven. Does people really care that much for it or is it just because they don't have it and they just want it because they can't have it?
Like I said. I have had pretty much every high level tracker there is and the best ones are the ones that not many talk about or care about because they have them.
There is no need to kiss so much ass or talk so much crap just because you want something you can't have. You really don't need high level trackers or tough to get trackers when you have all the easy ones to get.
Reading most posts here I can tell that Sct is better than FTN. All people say about FTN is the great community that it has hahaha and the no ratio stuff and the great staff (Brandon) that gives away invites like candies but the bottom line is that is rated high because it's harder to get because of the invite system and the small user database not because is the best tracker.

Wow apparently I missed this one. IMHO they are both great trackers with great staff. You don't have to choose guess what guys YOU CAN HAVE both!! Why do we have to compare every tracker against the others? They are all the best for their own reasons. I Am a member of almost every site out there, and one of my favorite trackers is SuperTorrents. They have a great staff and have def been giving SCT a run in pretimes Id say they beat them 7 out of 10 times ( not that I care )
Tweaks dude you need to calm down a bit and type with a little less slang you will get ALOT further. If you are not a trader that don't say 5hit like you gave an acct away, guess what...lots of site staff here not to mention LOADS of spies. Watch what you say. supertorrents are definately giving everyone a good run with pre times lately. sometimes im able to have 0day tvshows downloaded and about to be unpacked before they are upped elsewhere. and after this weekend i have alot more buffer to play with there so ill be watching them more closer.. but this is totally o.t

Both are good. But people are into torrenting mainly for downloads, film etc. Community should be close second. But this is my guess.

Tbh, I personally along with alot of other people do not care who you think is better. FTN was created for several reasons. And none of them was to be "WE ARE THE BEST" blah blah. It was purely created for a small userbase to download their releases at a good speed with decent pretimes & have a decent community, The place has developed all this FTN reached its original goal.
Over at FTN you have a site that actually listens to its users and isnt a faceless nazi controlled pay to leech site (and no im not having a pop at ScT, Im on about big sites).
Some of you like FTN others dont, no big deal its personal choice. Im not gonna stoop low to blatantly slag another tracker off i mean WTF is the point ?
If you want the best pretimes, get a topsite, If not its your choice where you wanna download.

But at the end of the day, the answer to the question could be either the feeling of being "chosen", snobbery, or one just really has a thirst to be part of an obviously fantastic Community, like FTN. Because there ain't much of a difference contentwise among FTN, SCT and say, TL, SCC.

They are both good sites, although FTN is more user friendly due to ratio friendliness. There are a lot of users with seedboxes on SCT, which makes it difficult to seed for those with limited upstream bandwith. Since bittorrent is all about sharing, being able to consistently download makes FTN an overall better community.

ScT goes more mainstream for tv shows and doesnt cover all of them (although that has seemed to start to change over the past few wks.) FTN doesnt have Pay 4 Gigs. (note, nothing wrong with that, sct has $$ issues and im not going to go down that road..)
All in all, you should feel honored to be on either site, because they offer the latest and greatest at greats pre-times, speeds, and quality. (exlude occassional missing RAR from both sites)

FTN is a much prettier site, the code highly developed and well-done, the community resembles this diversity in a fashion, all sorts of people, and all fun to torrent with.
ScT has more leechers, an assy site, and inconsistent pres, sometimes faster sometimes way too slow.
All in all, FTN is my choice of sites...

They have a couple :) Although most of the releases as of recent (past 2 weeks or so) have been done on 100mbits (using up bw)

I'm using SCC, and I couldn't care less if they had put it 15 minutes after FTN, as long as they put it. It's the content that matters.

pres matter if you use specialty trackers that you seed with files from 0day trackers.
eg. getting heroes 20minutes later than many others means you will get alot less upload on a tv only tracker.

Why FTN?
I know speed really matter to some people here.. but FTN has also good speed, maybe not the fastest.. but still good...
and perhaps.. some or most people want a better community than a better speed..
that's just my thoughts:)
