I prefer family guy now, but probably cos i've seen too much simpsons. Stewie has to be the best character tho, he's definitely better than homer.

Ya i have respect for the simpsons, i mean they beat the cosby show (that says alot)

and that is odd because most (almost all) of the early episodes of the simpsons
suck...

as homer got dumber the show got better, but

i just lov the quick wit and great popular culture references of the family guy :D

I'd have to say The Simpsons, only because I haven't seen too many Family Guy episodes. I did like the baby Stewie and the talking dog though.

Family Guy is great now, but in the long run Simpsons was an all around awesome show from season one to season eleven. Then it got old and boring. It lasted long for a reason.

Also, the early episodes where Homer wasn't as dumb were great too. Look at Season 2, it has the best episode ever, "Dead Putting Society" (where Homer/Ned first fight, and compete their kids in a golf tourny)

Simpsons will far surpass any other cartoon. Its made every cartoon there is today. if it wasnt for the simpsons there wouldnt be a family guy. such as a fat drunken dumb guy and a smart independent woman with a wierd voice two older children and a baby. where have you heard that before. But family guy makes me laugh alot more than simpsons by far. but simpsons will rule forever.

Compared without putting history into account.. family guy is funnier. For it's time, and for it's originality, I would put the simpsons first by a mile.

Southpark!! Cartman is the dude. That episode 'Scott tenerman must die' has to be the funniest cartoon i've ever seen. The little dance at the end and the horse being trained, rofl
