Well, first you would have to quantify the size of the release to compare, for example: average tv/xvid, or dvdr release.

and second you would have to multiple by 0.347, add 5, and then divide by 12.

yeah thats what i thought ... it would depend on the size ... and if the tracker has screwed with the clocks to make the pres look better ...

Well, you forgot to multiply by Avagadro's number to convert the number of atoms. :P

maybe then scc has changed there clock ...
i could care less about pre times ... its the speed after the release that counts not the speed of the release

Nope they do not change their clock..I have that conclusion because i Check every trackers every time for a new TV episode and SCC is always the first one to release it.

The speed in SCC is fast too..

Keep in mind that the torrent sites that show pre times, not always are correct ;)

But I think it was around 30 sec for xvid, and 10-20 sec for tv shows :)

the reason why tv shows have such unbelievably good pretimes is, they split the encode in segments and upload part after part during the commerical breaks.
that's why you find them sometimes a few minutes after airing.

The fastest pre I've ever seen on a tracker is something uploaded before pre. :)

We used to have a descent amount of XVID releases on THS before they even pred.

Ive seen a few mvs releases for example posted up to 47mins before they even pred last year.
(However we dont race for pres)

it is since the DB might be out of sync a bit from the source of the pre ... if that makes sense ...

right or have access to the pre folder on the ftp - which is more likely to be the case ...

LOL. But it should be said that some trackers clearly have problems with truthful pre-times. I noticed that earlier in the day when I downloaded this week's House episode. ST for example (which usually has good but not amazing pre-times) cheated on that value with about 15 minutes. Maybe that happens more often than I know but I'm not in the habit of checking those things.

I have watched releases get pred on FTN and i gotta say they are usually really close at reporting the actual pre times ... looking back at last nights tv show pres i see some ~2 minutes (350 megs) ... and i would guess its usually around that time ... 2-5 minutes ..

my fastest upload was 2 second after pre on tv/xvid
i average around <1 1/2 mins on most uploads.

The fastest ive seen was 1 sec by ScT, ST, CT, SCC, and some other sites, this is not including sites that have uploaded before pre, like ScT and SCC.

The Pre DB SCC runs off is a little slow so it is more like +45 sec for anything that comes up, The same with most sites.all you have to do to keep it really simple is look at the site log.
so check it out sometime and then compare the pre times between scc and lets say sct....wow they are both really accurate and your 45+ delay conspiracy is shot down in flames.

SCC is fast at pres but their bot is still off
maybe not 45 sec but a good 5-10 seconds.
Maybe you should check the logs more carefully.

oh and also
not just SCC but about 95% of all pre racing sites are skimming off a couple seconds, when no one is watching ;)

i said look in the site logs and compare scc to say sct as once you click upload it goes straight into the log and compare the pretimes and there is no 45+second delay as wizzcameron tries to imply ;)

and so your saying the site logs are inaccurate as well?

ok if scc uploads something at 18 second pre,go look at sct log and wait for it to show the same release....then compare the pre times that show on the site....sorry but there is no conspiracy

i would say ftn and sct are level with the pretimes

scc's clock is off and on the ones they are slow it always says pretime notfound- a coincidence?

sct and its auto(when working) is superfast and ftn is just as fast at times to make torrent but speeds are slower than scts 24/7

10sec on SCC it was oday stuff :)

How does this work. Don't you fill out a form explaining what you are uploading before you upload? Does that take less than 10 seconds?

For example at Oink you have to fill out a form that explains what you are uploading and I know that takes me a lot more than 10 seconds.

Does this mean that these guys get stuff before it gets pre?

Thinsin

No this just means they have programs doing it for them... Most of the fast uploaders are bots. :)

7 sec on SCC
it would be nice if sct,scc and ftn would have good pretimes constantly and on all categories not just xvid and tv cause i'ved seen pretimes of a few seconds after pre but some of them(especialy xxx, games, appz etc) are very slow 2-3 hours and sometimes days after pre.

Ok take the pretime and stick it in a actual site channel.

It clearly shows 45sec+ Pre. :frusty:

The bot on the site is just very slow...

- What you should all be asking yourselves is how many sites have torrents that have actually beaten pre?
