lol, idk wtf happened but wmp takes 100% cpu usage now in vista when playing mp3's (avi's and the such take up little usage). if i use mpc it drops down to 5-10% or something of that nature. wtf is going on? someone seen this and/or know how to fix besides using mpc? i want to use wmp and not mpc for my music! suggestions?

thats one of the rare situation, not every time you run it. apparently it happens when you move your mouse while watching movie or listening music(in my case it happened when i was listening music).
it happened to me a couple of times, probably will be fixed in SP.

on vista VLC cuts off the Aero feature if you use it to play video.

Not for me, if config rightThat's good then.
Why not share the particular setting with the rest of the world, eh?

like stated above. i want to use wmp for my mp3's. not anything else. i've googled this matter and A LOT of ppl have had this prob, but mostly in XP. maybe no one has started a complaint with vista in this matter. idk. it's pissing me off though. i notice when i'm @ 100% too. shit starts to sssllllooowww down... :(

guess i can't win. so, i moved back to winamp. works GREAT. only 7% cpu usage. seems retarded that EVERYTHING wmp plays only uses up to 20% cpu, but if i play mp3's 100% all the fucking time and it's not just mousing over that does it. even idling and it does this. wtf. time to upgrade.

anway, where the hell is the crossover fade in/out option located in winamp? can't find it. don't have to have it, but i prefer to have that option enabled.

Seems like the build-in option isn't working too good.

This plugin should do the trick better than the build-in option:

The build-in option is located in: preferences > output in plugins > DirectSound output > configure > fading tab > and select "on end of song" > check enabled.

Hope this helps you :)

wmp is for chumps you could alternatively use winamp which is a good music player, and the new version packs a kickass theme.

simplicity is what they dont offer, wmp has it all and its simple.
