The nick you're using is registered.

If its yours type "msg NickServ IDENTIFY yourpasswordhere"

If its not your nick, use a different one.

have you registered the nick you were using earlier by

/msg nickserv register PASSWORD EMAIL

if you have you are supposed to type
/msg nickserv identify PASSWORD

with your chosen password !

or maybe someone else have already registered the nick / handle

so try a different nick

The nick is indeed mine.

When typing the above, I get the message:

onlinenooby> msg NickServ IDENTIFY mypassword
=== #lossless No external channel messages (#lossless)

you have to type it with the "/" in the beginning and you have to type it in the status window.

blackbird

/msg NickServ IDENTIFY mypassword

you forgot the /

edit : am a bit too late :D

*NickServ* Password incorrect.

I've logged in here before so I don't know wtf....

Also, there is only one place to type, so I assume that's the "status window".

Fucking IRC.....

Any other suggestions?

Oh no... there's no possible way that anyone hates this shit more than me.

With so many user friendly chat programs now, why the fk do trackers feel the need to cling to an archaic software? :dabs:

Skizo if it is you nick then just join the help channel (/j help) and ask one of the ops (or higher) to help you out.
i had to wait once like 15 minutes till one came online but he helped me and was really nice.

You'll need to be registered with Nickserv under a new name then ... and don't forget your password this time ;) Some IRC-services allow to recover your password (via /msg nickserv sendpass) but in p2p-net it doesn't work for example.

ok.... doing some Googling and got it figured out.

/nick enternewnickname
/nickserv register password email
/join lossless

I think that's how it went. Don't ask me to do it again tho'.

Thanks, guys.

as i have said if you don't cherish you old nick then you can do as the others suggested, but if people know you by the previous one and you still want it go to the help channel and you will most likely get it back.
Good luck anyways.
