this is nice. My current subscription ends Oct 30th, just before this sale is over. I have been with ngroups for about 8 months now and even cheaper service will keep me with them :D

Just joined up myself to test it out myself to see what speeds I would get on the 12 connections. Yikes thats 3 services I have used over 3 months :)

Wait, but what is their retention? i use Giganews and with the large amount content available, i will more then likely miss something and having those days to catch up are worth the extra cost. There have been many times were i find something that i would like to see some where and i go and check on usenet, and the last post was made 180 some days ago and was still able to grab it. It's a luxury i suppose. The $25 i pay definitely pay for themselves after i queue 2 vids.

Good luck and stay safe.

might have to look at this one ! cheaper than most !

retention is 100+ days on the euro server. Not really sure on the others as i use the euro one. I am almost certain they are 100+ too. I've been using them for almost a year now and have been quite happy. I max out my 8Mb line at just over 900KB/s and manage to get stuff well over 100 days. Although i've noticed that stuff that old, i can't max out my connection. I tried downloading something 120 days old and i only maxed out at 600KB/s
Plus they let me pay via paypal which i like.

Tried out their trial 2 day subscription. Man the speed rocks. Get anywhere between 600 kbps to 1mbps. I'm sticking with this one.

Yep. Left giganews for this outfit. $10 a month and the retention and speed can't be beat. Hopefully, they won't be too popular and ruin their speeds :).

But the special ends Oct. 31st so they will have a hard time competing with Newhosting at $15.

I to am very happy. And $9.99 for lifetime of Unlimited is great. Can't see anyone competing with that. So far I have had great speeds to.

I just signed up and was disappointed to see the speeds between 300-600 KBps. My max is somewhere in the range of 15Mbps, so as you can imagine I'm not very impressed. Is anyone else having better results?

Hmm that's low. My speeds are usually in the range of 600 kbps - 2 mbps depending on traffic and location. Try changing servers if it helps..

I had been using Newsbin and apparently only a single connection. I switched to NewsLeecher with the full 12 connections and my speed is maxed out.

Conclusion: I'm very pleased with Ngroups.net!

I usually use the euro server but it seems to not be working for me. I'm using the US server however...so i don't know whats up. I hope the euro server comes back online though as i get better speeds from it (even though i live in canada...weird that i'd get better speeds from europe!)

I wouldn't try it. I have 3 computers with hacked cable modems on each that I use at home. I tried it on 2 computers simultaneously and one just stopped during the transfer.

Usenet providers are notorious for canceling your service for violations of the TOS agreement and keeping your money. And banning the card/paypal account so you can;t signup again.

Okay. This promotion is done for now. Unless it comes back with a different name soon.

Back to $14.99 per month for Unlimited...

This was the first time in over a year that they had a promotion like this if i can remember right. However a couple months ago they had a deal where you could get 2 months for $19.99 (was a good deal as the price is $14.99 a month).

Neoworld

At least this was a lifetime promotion (well as long as you don't *miss* a payment). Were as other offers are only limited in time they apply.
