just wanted to see if someone could recommend a good rock band!
something comparable to old smashing pumpkins, Muse, DMB, Coldplay, and or old Radiohead?

I just need something new in my iPod:)

whoever said MCR, go die. jetje's on the ball, porcupine tree is quite good, you may also want to check out some opeth albeit it may not be your style looking at the bands you listed, check out audioslave or soundgarden they're up your alley

idk if anyone said, but '30 seconds to mars' is an amazing band, thought i would throw it out there

I have been listening to a lot of music for a long time. I really encourage you to check out these 2 albums:

Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther (2006)
The National - Boxer (2007)

Both stunning albums. My brother-in-law totally agrees and he's a huge fan also of Coldplay, Muse and Radiohead. :D
